New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Having been to goodison for over 10 years, I can tell you categorically for 95% of games it was exactly the same there.

The stadium is great and is not the current problem.
Exactly mate,
People remembering goodison with rose tinted glasses...

I had a season ticket for 15byears and went before and after that period....

At its best it was phenomenal, but let's not pretend that the place was bouncing whistle to whistle game after game...

The new ground is fantastic, we just need to start giving the fans something to shout about on the pitch

We are absolutely terrible at Goodison last year as well, but a stadium with stands a bit further away from the pitch is definitely an advantage to the opposition. In all honesty though, the main problem isn't the stadium, it's the players not being good enough.
This 100%. The stadium is great alas the team isn’t nowhere near being the required standard. People are just looking at excuses to blame the stadium for our poor form.

Exactly. The performances are the real issue here, and watching Everton be crap three times in six days isn't exactly inspiring.

Oddly, too, I felt the atmosphere before the game felt better than either of the last three or four home games, yet that quickly disipated.

As an old timer watching Everton I expect the worst if we have more than two out from our best eleven so with 80% of the midfield out and our goalie in his agitated state (he has been for a few weeks now) I am astonished how anyone expects anything different.

Just isn't a home ground.

It's what the people who run it want it to be: a nice looking facility to suck the entertainment pound in.

As known for rugby right now as it is football.

Not a fortress and never will be until the vampire's have their grip loosnened on it.

Something DRASTIC has to happen before this venue becomes remotely enjoyable from a tribal point of view.
that would be to get some good attacking football going on on that flat green bit at the bottom. The last few games has been noticeable for a flat atmosphere, also notable for a crap team, putting out crap performances. We'll/it'll be grand once get some decent players back

Truth is the atmosphere in top level football in England is poor 90% of the time.

Every team believes they have the best away fans and every home team needs geeing up or the referee to piss them off in order to get in full flow.

I do think our atmosphere at home is especially poor however. Not many other stadiums where it's actually silent without the away fans.

All after the Lord Mayor's parade though.

Nothing left to play for and they'll be hollow victories for me - a derby win apart.

Even if we were regularly beating teams 3-0 I reckon it would still be a quiet ground with people leaving early. Just the nature of modern football.

Getting away from the ground is a problem. I don't know how they've only got them exits in the wall, from a fire evacuation point of view it doesn't seem great.

In the hospitality bits some people probably watch about 60 minutes of the games. The main issue is the performances on the pitch.

there were peeps on my row that turned up in the 18th minute and others who left for half time piss/drinks at 38mins. I was up and down more for people coming in/leaving than getting up because the footy was exciting.
