The times I've driven I've parked at Liverpool One and just do the 30-odd min walk down the dock road. A bit more of a trek than other spots, but it means you can get out to the M62 faster than just sitting in traffic.

As others have said, it’s definitely best to park a little further away. Walk an extra ten minutes and you’ll save half an hour driving away after the game.

My wife had a medium size bag of peanuts confiscated at one of the trial matches. They seemed to be sticklers early on, but she's managed to get lots of snacks in since, no problem. I've tried some of the food inside, more out of initial curiosity or when running late, but it won't be a regular thing for me at those prices. Bovril (before) or a pint (afterwards) is about my usual limit.
It does feel like a much longer day now though (arrive much earlier and stay much later), and I think that will start to deter quite a few for the less attractive games, the ones in deepest winter weather or night matches. For now, the novelty factor is still there and there seems to be enough non-ST holders or people who still haven't been to take up the resale tickets.... (if the attendance figures are to be believed). Unlike for our neighbours, I don't think that there is a bottomless pit of supporters ready to keep filling the place at current levels of performance. Plus lots of people now talking about no renewing STs in the knowledge that there will be no problem getting tkts on resale. That might have a knock-on effect on hospitality sales as I know a few people only jumped on that option to get past the waiting lists.

Regent road (the dock road) is alright if you don’t mind a 15/20 min walk. Park up towards Norton Scrap. I pay £15 in a small car park but if you want to take the risk you can park on Regent road but it is supposed to be permit holders only but loads park and haven’t been done yet. Sods law they’ll be out in force on Saturday

Its a long day out, but you dont need to spend more than 2 hours at the ground. Also, if you provide medical reason for bringing chocolate or something that can help medically, then they cant stop you taking it in.
I don't necessarily agree with the prices, thats why I dont pay them. I do my drinking and eating before I get in the ground. However, even given that choice people still actively choose to utilise what is provided in the ground and as long as that matches the Aramark sales expectations and maintains their profit margins Im not sure it'll change.

I pre-booked Q park at Liverpool One for the last evening game and it cost me £9 to park between 17:55 and 02:00. That's cheaper than the train. I left down the strand and through Speke and it was really, really easy. Genuinely easier than anything I have experienced with leaving Goodison by car.

Great thanks, we'll be with my partner in the morning, looking to do something with her and the kid first. She has offered to drop us off but the bus might be a bit easier for all involved. Usually we park near the Birkenhead tunnel entrance. I don't suppose the shuttle busses go from Queens sq too?

I think the Lime St buses go from commutation row (by the Wellington column). The Liverpool One buses go from L1 Bus station, which is at least under cover. Not sure if any go from Queens Sqr/St Johns Lane. Whichever one you choose, don't leave it late as the congestion is too much nearer to KO. One hr or more before should be a 5-10 min journey.

Match days haven’t changed that much for me when I drive. Goodison - parked on Sleepers Hill - 10 minute walk / 30 min drive.
BMD - park on Old Hall St - 20 minute walk walk / 30 min drive.
Totally different when I’m on the ale though - town for hours before. Stay for an hour in the upper south afterwards and back to town for more hours

i do wonder as well re attendances if this could become a national trend as purses are stretched
football attendances have been massively improved since the pandemic with people desperate to enjoy live events
but we are in a recession with real wage stagnation and rising costs and interest across all areas: rent, groceries, amenities, entertainment
