Love this mate. As others have said, the only issue might be the intricacy of getting 1878 in the tower.

However, as the club pointed out that the inclusion of 1878 wasn't high on he majority of fans' priorities, I'd say this without the 1878 in the tower would be the perfect option. It achieves the same as option 1 but looks much better.

I hated all three designs at first, but Option 1 is really growing on me. Although I still think it needs small edits here and there from an actual professional graphic designer.

Option 2 looks worse than our current monstrosity

I think they could have solved this " need to include the name and 1878 inside the shield" conundrum by adopting the approach of the 1995 Cup Final badge. A second, outer shield gives room to accomodate the words and leave my precious original badge alone.
