Why, explain yourself.

Throughout our club history the badge has changed frequently usually without any communication with supporters. Whilst I liked the old crest very much I can understand that with the proliferation of the digital age there is a need for a more streamlined crest. Badge 1 is pretty much the previous badge tarted up a little bit, badge 2 is the current one altered a little to satisfy the masses. The 3rd option represents an update that maintains tradition whilst presenting a more modern appearance.

So again, explain why a scouser would vote for badge 1, I'm assuming it's because you in particular are insular and afraid of a positive change?

Think he's just using 'scousers' and 'wools' to mean positive and negative people, as a lot of lids do over here these days.

No.2 isn't that bad in all honesty. It does make the badge stand out...

Wow really? Is just like the current badge with a less flattering shield shape and NSNO scribbled across the bottom. And still has no laurels.

Your opinion I know. But to the rest of the people who didn't like the current, all they needed was NSNO anywhere on it? Haha

The tower, that's what's wrong with these designs. It's a poor representation.

This took me 2 minutes, with a tower someone else created:

All three look better to me with a decent tower like that.

Spot on mate!

but I can not for the life of me fathom, why, if they have to have Everton on it, they cannot have it in capital letters for the purposes of aesthetic symmetry!

Everton... does not look as good and symmetrical as ...EVERTON

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this.

Allen - you've obviously got some design skills, any chance you could knock up versions of the three options but with EVERTON instead of Everton?

Well the Everton on the 2000 crest wasn't all caps. This is the least of the problems. You all not the people who liked the 1983-1991 crest were you?

I guess I never really thought of the Everton (and the 1878) on the 2000 badge as being 'part of the crest'.

While I'll admit this isn't the biggest problem with the designs, its these small considerations that can make a difference between a design looking amateur and looking polished. The 1991 crest is my favourite, for what it's worth.

All 3 are too complicated. Trying to squeeze too much information into it.

Think of the most famous and easily recognisable brands in the world - simple easy to distinguish logos, easy to recognise from a glance and not plastered full of dates, laurels, names shields inside shields blah blah blahhhhhhh.

Look at, dare I say it - Liverpool's new badge, simplified and following current fashion by going retro (if we had the same badge in the previous seasons training wear it would be comparative) its easily recognisable, not fussy or clumsy and isn't weighed down with too much information... still worn by tossers though.

Personally, I think the font is more of an issue than the case - but that's the Everton logotype and I couldn't see that changing between this season's badge and next.

On the subject of that, I've not seen anyone comment on the woeful job they've done of distorting the 'Everton' on option 3. I don't know if they were going for perspective or what, but it looks terrible.
