The most infuriating thing is, yes, some of the fans designs look great. There's plenty of us lot on this forum who agree.

However, the majority in the survey clearly didn't.

Personal story - this was discussed at the focus group I went to. I brought up a circular design as an option. 7 of the 12 people in my group didn't want a circular option and preferred a shield.

Biggest problem for me with all of them is that they are all predominantly royal blue.....on an almost totally royal blue shirt. They all disappear into the shirt too much for my liking. At least with last year's version, the yellow trim and differing shades of blue in the shield made it stand out a bit more. But just my 2 cents worth...

I love our previous logo so much. I genuinely thought we had the best logo in the league. Why tamper with it ?

Which is why the club should have an official club crest and a separate crest of the shirts (like Liverpool do).

Everton wouldn't have it though and rejected that as an idea.

Choices made by professions because of the way FANS VOTED IN THE CONSULTATION SURVEY.

Most fans didn't want a circle.

You're right, must have just been the ones who bothered to create designs who did.

Thing is if you ask people what the want in an Everton badge they'd describe "shield, tower, wreaths, NSNO, Everton, 1878" and oh look we have what we had before. The mistake in consultancy was that all it did was recreate (bad) versions of the old one.

1. Its a crap version of last seasons and goes against everything that the club said in why the were changing it.
2. Probably the best (though 1 will win) but 18 and 78 looks stupid.
3. Awful - looks like a fake Pro Evo badge, may as well be call Merseyside Blue.

Like to know how much this agency was paid when people on here did better.

No it doesn't.

They changed the badge because of issues with the way it was presented in media, which was why Everton was placed inside the shield on the current design. Option 1 remedies fans concerns about the loss of NSNO and the laurels while also adhering to this principal.

Definitely agree with this.

That's the problem. We are locked into it. We need the tower. We need the motto. Surprisingly people think the name on the badge is important. People want the wreaths too. That's a lot to fit inside a shield.

A circle would give you more room to be creative, like the milkyonedesigns, but unfortunately most people didn't want a circle, they wanted a shield.

Basically people wanted the old badge without the stuff outside it, so they picked the 1991 badge (60% picked it).
Then they had to cram all the stuff into a new version of the 1991 badge.

That's the conundrum we have.

1 really isn't that bad. It's not great, but it's better than 2 and 3.

None of them are great, number 1 would be my choice and is definitely an improvement on the current one.

If it number 1, it will be nearly like having the old badge back, only its not really as nice, this whole thing has been a bit of a fiasco.
