Do you know what I reckon it's about, honestly? Nike charge us per item to embroider. A badge with unconnected elements, like the 1878 and Everton on our old badge, costs more than a badge that's a single, connected whole.

It's not a case of what anyone reckons - they have actually said that this is the issue. Cost and complexity of printing it.

You could sketch the Sistine Chapel in blue and white - so long as it's inside a single border, it'll be cheaper and easier to reproduce than the previous design.

If people think number 1 is crap or rubbish or s***e then they can't have liked our old badge that much as they're actually pretty similar.

The first option solves the problem of reproduction in media while also retaining the laurels, NSNO, and name of the club. The bottom of the shield is a bit fat but it's hardly the end of the world. It looks a hell of a lot better than the current one and anybody who thinks otherwise is simply being contrary, imo.

The only thing similar to me is the shield shape. The original crest looked in proportion, this latest design looks far to cramped with Everton and 1878 shoved in to the shield.

Everton needs removing, 1878 needs removing, and then the tower needs enlarging slightly and moved lower down to put everything in to proportion.

That really wouldn't surprise me. I've got no problem with a simple design, as long as it looks good. All 3 are neither simple nor do they look good.

Check out how the scroll in option 1 is absolutely, positively overlapping like a mofo with the main shield. Everton don't want the bill for that being a separate element.

Looking at the first badge makes you wonder what all this nonsense regarding the production difficulties of our old badge was all about, it looks much the same but ****ter

I don't understand the 'multi-media reproduction' issues like, it's more like 'cheaper to reproduce' imo.
