2025/26 Nathan Patterson

If we were to talk about his performance objectively in here without the 2 wums sneering constantly, it is fair to say his crossing was very poor last night (although he was far from the only one).

Defensively he was solid, and he was one of our better players, particularly given the abject McNeil in front of him.

Seems to be growing in confidence each game he plays and as his match fitness improves.

The 2 wums have been desperate for him to drop a howler for weeks now but have been left disappointed. To the point chief wum and bigot @davek has taken to defending McNeils performance in a desperate attempt to put Patterson down.
Just highlighting how clueless he is.

Got caught napping up the pitch and out of position a few times, corrected his own massive error in that respect on one occasion (hurrah!); forearmed the ball away in the box and luckily for us the ref was a divvy and didn't see it; never got a cross in all night worth a damn; once or twice was solid in his challenges, especilly aerially.

That's it. That's how he played.

I'd say anyone who thought otherwise for that match last night are the ones 'wumming'. He was hooked and immediately we became more of a threat and scored down that side.

We need better....MUCH better than him.

You raise some good points in this post, it's a shame you feel the need to intersperse them with personal insults at other blues who come here to constructively discuss the performance of the player.

He was solid defensively and stuck to his task well, despite being left exposed by McNeil ahead of him.

His confidence does look to be improving, if he adds a decent level of fitness there's no reason why he can't make a concentrated effort to force his way into Moyes' thinking for the remainder of the season, even now we're getting numbers back.

I doubt anyone wants to see him make a howler just for Internet shizz and giggles. Personally I'd love to see him get a goal, particularly a match winning one. He's entering into the final 18 months of his contract and it'd be nice for him to experience the feeling of netting the winner and feeling the outpouring of emotion from the stands before he potentially moves on.

He was okay but also "his crossing was poor" when he had 1 (I at least can't recall a second?) and it wasn't as bad as Myko's 4 or 5 is a bit weird. Hung out to dry by the slug in front of him and whenever he went forward McNeil stopped him in his tracks or didn't pass (or was for some reason on the left side so Patterson was alone anyway), so it's not like we're playing down that side anyway.

If only there was an adequate winger either side, the stuff of dreams - even Mykolenko gets into decent positions when Ndiaye/Grealish is on that side, but even with everyone fit it won't happen for Patto here.

Yeah, we do, there's a bunch of you who have called him the literal worst player to EVER play for Everton, based on a 2 minute cameo.

Didn't VAR look at that one?

Be arsed finding the posts, they're 70 pages or so back, but very much truths - it was after his 2 min cameo vs. Burnley where he didn't have time to do anything and touched the ball twice.
Literally nobody judges a player who's been on the payroll at the club for four years based solely on a two minute cameo, that's a really silly thing to think and an even more silly thing to type.
