2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Again, absolutely no issues with him. Hung out to dry by the pathetic excuse of a player in front of him. No idea if Dibling would be any better because the manager refuses to drop McNeil. Patterson shouldn't be dropped against Brighton, but clearly O'Brien will go back to right back.

….he left Patterson on when hooking McNeil,

I thought Patterson did ok (again) but neither full back looks capable of delivering a decent cross into the box. Surely we can find better.

It would be difficult to find much worse, that's for sure. Patterson is not really a significant improvement on O'Brien, and Mykolenko is surely the worst left back possibly in the top two divisions in this country. £30m spent on the pair as well, criminal.

To the comments about body language between Moyes and Patto when he got subbed off, I didn’t sense anything frigid. Looked like any other sub. Maybe some were expecting petting and a delicate but intense open-mouth kiss for a solid performance?
He was stunned to learn about him coming off mate, and was so cold towards Moyes. Will try to take a SS later in the day

It was very telling when he was getting frustrated at the lack of movement in front of him.

Played some lovely stuff and linked up with midfield well in the second half when we went to three at the back. I’d like to see Aznou on the other side and Dibling and N’Diaye on both wings.
This, or a 3-5-2 with Ndiaye buzzing off Barry and KDH - Garner - ??? (take your pick from Gueye, Röhl, Armstrong, Iroegbunam) in the middle.

With Grealish out it gets our best players on the pitch and maybe gets the best out of some of them/mitigates weaknesses in the squad

Not that I have any idea but I'd love to see it tried again

Offers nothing. Anyone saying otherwise is just polshing a turd and they know it.

He goes off and Gueye gets into the position Patterson should have been getting into - a defensive midfielder!!! - and provides the inteligence to set up the goal.

No wonder Moyes went with three at the back second half because him and Mykolenko were stinking the place out again.

Could probably stick Gueye up front and he'd also do a better job than Barry or Beto. Hes an experienced player.

He played well yesterday, and I was surprised he was brought off.

….i thought it was an obvious change and called it in the match thread.

We went 3 at the back which stemmed Leeds’ flow but it didn’t particularly increase our attacking threat. We were chasing a goal so there was a point at 70+ minutes were Moyes simply had to bring Dibling on.

Moyes will have known the defensive risk bringing Patterson off but he had to take it as the game neared its end. An obvious change and one that could’ve won us the game given the chance Dibling had.
