2025/26 Nathan Patterson

I dont 'hate' him at all.

He's just a big soft lad who cant defend without someone standing guard over him and is a liability in attack

He's no use whatsoever to any team that want to got out and play attacking football. We'd be lacerated by the opposition on the break....as we know...because we've seen it on multiple occasions when this lad is caught out of position blowing for tugs jogging back from upfield exposing us. That's why Moyes handed him specific instructions to be in a defensive RB position at all times and then told whoever was on that side with him to make sure he wasn't isolated.

That cant be part of our future as a club if we want to climb the table and stay there.

You don`t hate him, yet you`ve somehow managed to get yourself banned from his thread three times, due to all the bile you`ve continually spouted towards him since he arrived here 🤷‍♀️

I've no dog in this race, Patterson, Coleman, Aznou, Mykolenko are all poor full backs who arent good enough going forward. I do however have an interest in bigotry and poor wumming, and am happy to nibble on the bait now and again for some entertainment.

I cant stand Michael Keane, team was letting in more than 2.5 goals a game when he playing before this season, but I supported him when he put the badge on. It would be nice to see others try it with our Nath.

Certain posters will not admit Everton look a much more balanced team with a right back playing in that position rather than a centre half. Patterson no mater how much they cryarse has played well the last couple of games. The problem with Patterson is he's hardly ever fit, which is why we need a new right back.
He’s not even a very good right back .
But he is an actual right back and it makes the defence and the team so much more balanced

Imagine if we went out and signed a decent one …. It would be a massive improvement

That's my point really in a nutshell but I did think he played his part against Villa, that was a bonus. Still need a right back in my view, Patto's injury record here has been awful and truly I hope he's over it.

To add some perspective to this debate: we were playing Villa, a side that couldn’t buy a win in the first part of the season. They’ve clearly been punching above their weight recently, taking advantage of a very weak league to climb the table. This weekend, though, they ran out of steam and delivered a performance much closer to the real Villa we’ve seen all season.

They barely tested either of our full-backs, which is backed up by the defensive stats from the game that someone kindly posted here.

Yet days later, people are still singing the praises of a perma-crocked player who put in, at best, a passable performance. Genuinely one of the most bizarre threads I’ve seen on a football forum.
