Not to often hopefully, got to hope he learns from it , what he was thinking of I dont know ,im putting it down to excitement at coming on and bobby telling him to express himself
well, he's smart, he won't do it often, but he'll do it again, that's for sure, he isn't scared, even after this ..

Very Raw, bags of talent, not scared to try stuff. These type of players will achieve more than you play it safe type.

"Not scared to try stuff" is only a positive in an attacking sense.

It's not a positive when he's not scared to try a stupid little back flick in his own half just to look good.

People at the match were saying he's young, still learning etc.

Not one player in my Under 21 game tomorrow would try that.

It is positive, he just needs work on decisions, like Stones and Ross.

Its times like this that should make him learn, mistakes when it maters. You just hope he has the mentality to learn from them.

Felt sorry for him...just a mixture of nerves and wanting to impress. He picked himself up and got on with the game though, which showed his real mettle. He'll be OK.

This ^^^

It was an awful first touch and he looked suitably gutted. It would have been very easy to hide after that and just hoof the ball away every time it came near him, but he seemed to have enough self-confidence to just and try and play football which takes some balls.

Still, at least it'll stop people putting him forward as the new messiah, he's plainly got a lot to learn.

It was a decision based on stupidity not inexperience. To defend it, is equally as stupid. To see it as anything else... Etc.

Now let us all leave it at that and hopefully it will help him gauge what is expected in PL and develop into a star.

Feel sorry for the lad, he had just come on for his first competitive game, we were getting tonked and he wanted to impress.

I'd rather he did that today than in a game we were winning 1-0, but he'll learn quickly.

I remember Barkely once trying a cross field ball in the centre of the park which was cut out and the opposition got the ball back and had a good chance from it.

Thats a good example of a young player who's not scared to try things ( a cross field pass which was underhit but could have helped us build an attack).

Trying to play a stupid flashy backflick in your own half that probably has more chance of going wrong that right isn't a good example of a young player who's not scared to try things.

You wouldn't say that if stones tried to dribble past 3 players in his own box, and it doesn't work for what Besic did.

It's like last week Mirallas tried a little flick to go inside his man but it didn't work and lost posession when he could have kept control but took a risk to get a good position. Thats fine, thats trying something with an upside.

What Besic tried had no upside than to make himself look good. And thats not what Premier League football is about unless you're actually helping your team out in the process by scoring or making goals.

that's 'cause they're not Bešić .. they don't have heart or balls to do it pal

Erm no mate.

More than likely they don't have the stupidity to do it.

James McCarthy has got 'heart and balls' by working his arse off and flying in to every tackle. That was just a stupid mistake from Besic, however you want to dress it up.
