Muhamed Besic

Was sick of reading "we have to play Besic" "Besic must start" on twitter. Today proved for me he's not ready.

I know it was one mistake, but it was a COSTLY mistake. I honestly believed we could still get the draw before he did that, It had no purpose at all. Pre season everyone went mad over him because he kicked people, if he did that he'd be off, the lad needs to grow up.

From his passing he looks like a quality future addition, but the other side to him is reminding me so much of Gravesen. Fans fave for being an idiot.

Sorry i know it's a bit dramatic and ranty, but it really, really peed me off at the game today.

I remember Barkely once trying a cross field ball in the centre of the park which was cut out and the opposition got the ball back and had a good chance from it.

Thats a good example of a young player who's not scared to try things ( a cross field pass which was underhit but could have helped us build an attack).

Trying to play a stupid flashy backflick in your own half that probably has more chance of going wrong that right isn't a good example of a young player who's not scared to try things.

You wouldn't say that if stones tried to dribble past 3 players in his own box, and it doesn't work for what Besic did.

It's like last week Mirallas tried a little flick to go inside his man but it didn't work and lost posession when he could have kept control but took a risk to get a good position. Thats fine, thats trying something with an upside.

What Besic tried had no upside than to make himself look good. And thats not what Premier League football is about unless you're actually helping your team out in the process by scoring or making goals.

Absolutely this. 100%.

He could have just as easily played a simple side footed pass.

Today proved that a lot of our defensive players aren't up to it at the moment. It wasn't that costly a mistake at that point in the game. Tim Howard's error should have got him sent off which would have been far more costly, that doesn't mean he should be dropped.

this.

i didn't laugh at the time but deep down i was just thinking "he must feel like the dumbest person in the world right now"

didn't help that everyone else was slipping on their arse as well
Annoyed me that, pouring with rain and we DRENCHED the pitch by watering it more, players were slipping everywhere

Tim has also shown a lot of positive attributes, Besic has mostly shown he can kick people. I do think he's got talent and will become a first team player, but i'm sick of the love in for him considering he's done nothing good

haha okay now i am laughing about it.

that was literally his first touch in an everton shirt?

he goes for an audacious backheel, splitting the defence in half and playing a striker through on goal who slotted home.

it was utterly horrific - you can imagine if balotelli does that in a RS shirt he'll probably laugh. wish besic would have snapped costa in half though, doesn't beat woodgate for worst debut

Feel sorry for the lad, he had just come on for his first competitive game, we were getting tonked and he wanted to impress.

I'd rather he did that today than in a game we were winning 1-0, but he'll learn quickly.
Lets get one thing straightwe were not getting Tonked....thats probably the most unjust scoreline I have ever witnessed.
We bossed possession , out played them in large parts of the game.Suicidal defending & poor officials cost us big time.
Besic will learn from this , cant say our centre backs will.

What was the point in bringing him on in the 88th minute? Why not do it earlier?
i think he'll be a good player but the lad needs more than 2-3 minutesof football, he should have been brought on in the 70th minute when barry and mccarthy where goosed, even gibson could have helped alot!!
