This ^^^^^^^^^^ is one thing. He had 4 opposition players around him and no obvious easy ball so he tried some skill to get out of it, did so and played a good pass to set up an attack. If it didn't come off and he lost it there were still defenders behind him to cover.

Worth trying something, benefit outweighs risk. Still gotta be careful and not make a habit of it but it was understandable.

Today wasn't.

But i'm not writing him off obviously, hopefully he does a few tricks and turns in the right part of the pitch.

Admire his nerve/bottle, bit to be learned regards the technician side of things. Some set of Debuts - Eto'o scores a header (was it his first touch?) and Bes gets an assist for them.

i think he'll be a good player but the lad needs more than 2-3 minutesof football, he should have been brought on in the 70th minute when barry and mccarthy where goosed, even gibson could have helped alot!!

Gibson would have been a good shout actually, ok defensively and offers more going forward than the other CM's.

God knows why he as brought on with 2 minutes to go. 70th minute for Barry and smash Costa would have done something and fired the lads up a bit.

Martinez starting to wreck my head with some of these subs.

Tim has also shown a lot of positive attributes, Besic has mostly shown he can kick people. I do think he's got talent and will become a first team player, but i'm sick of the love in for him considering he's done nothing good
You don't think he's shown any positive attributes??

You haven't seen much of him then.

he'll snap slippy Gerrard and everything will be forgotten, can we all agree on this?
Nope. He'll be nowhere near the team in the derby after this. (well he'll be on the bench like !)

Not saying that he shouldnt play - more that he wont be trusted by 27th Sept.

haha okay now i am laughing about it.

that was literally his first touch in an everton shirt?

he goes for an audacious backheel, splitting the defence in half and playing a striker through on goal who slotted home.

it was utterly horrific - you can imagine if balotelli does that in a RS shirt he'll probably laugh. wish besic would have snapped costa in half though, doesn't beat woodgate for worst debut

If his head goes and he cries off back home to Bosnia he's gonna go down in Everton folklore :D

Not that i'm saying it will like.

Spot on that....he should have come on at 3-4 when we had real momentum.
Strange to put the lad on with a few minutes to go.

Besic made a terrible mistake and I am sure he will learn from it...time will tell. Sometimes a players strength can also be their weakness and in this case I think it played a factor. He is fearless and arrogant (in a good way) which probably caused him to try the wrong thing at the wrong time in the wrong place...BUT he will learn from it and I think will become one of our future star players. Remembering what Barkley said in a previous interview...RM allows them to learn from their mistakes and teaches them where they can make a mistake and where its ok if it goes wrong etc...and think this will be used as a good example in future.

He should not be afraid to try thing like that imo...BUT more learn when its ok and when its a no no...and if he does that (which I am sure he will learn quickly) he will be an awesome player. In short its not so much the mistake...but where and when the mistake took place. We need players like him that aren't afraid to do something like that as it will one day be one of his strengths...the unexpected BUT not like today as it was totally the wrong place, time and not needed. In other words don't take it out of his game...just learn when its ok to do it and when not. Its also the kind of mistake one should only do once and learn from it through experience. From what I have seen in the short time from him is that he is very aware and has a sharp footballing mind...a great asset...and think he will learn fast. Thus I wont be afraid to play him again in the next game if I were RM.

but still, fans would love it, and they would applaud him

I'll applaud him when he gets it right mate. Silly little back-heels in our own half are not something I want to see. If he's brave and clever and a top class player then go do that in the opposition half. Then he'll impress me. I understand it was his debut, so hopefully he was just trying a little too hard.

he wanted to impress mate, yes he made mistake, it was poor decision, and I understand fans don't want to see that kind of stuff, but he is very good on the ball and he'll kep doing stuff like that, he will dribble, he'll use his heel, etc .. that's how he play, you'll get used to it .. believe me when I say he's the star in the making .. that's why I am glad he has Roberto here, he'll make him player he can be, and Roberto knows his potential, that's why he brought him here in the first place

He has talent but will take him time to adapt to the speed and quality of the league, he had a great world cup but the premiership is a massive step up im quality than hungarian league
