£4M for this feller.

What's the catch?

Everything we've seen in the WC and for Everton suggests he should be valued far, far higher than that. Unless other clubs think he's a massive disciplinary liability I just dont understand this price.

It's easy for us to say this now, but was you saying after the WC before we was linked with him. I had never even heard of him, now I think he's amazing

The catch is scouts dont know the market as good as they think they do,I mean, this guy looks as good as almost everyone at the CM,DM except maybe Yaya Toure.

No. I hadn't heard of him. But if someone gets the plaudits he did in the WC in the past you could guarantee the fee would be very high.

I'm not complaining like, just puzzled.

Interesting fact about Besic: he's the Bosnian ambassador for this charitable organisation

I have a feeling his reputation may go before him. Torsten Fink tried to strangle him in the dressing room at Hamburg and he picked up a record number of reds in Hungary. That may be offputting. I suppose for a club like Everton where finances are always grim its a chance worth taking.

I have to say, i too was puzzled.

Infact i voiced my concerns earlier in this thread. I had never heard of him until the warm up game before the World cup started. The little bit parts i have seen of him since his arrival here, has made me sit up and take notice of him. Now i'm even more puzzled as i was beforehand.

The thing is we need to see him when the things dont go as good as he expects them to go.
When he is frustrated,on the other hand he has so much potential, and he played for Ferencvaros,a team that couldnt win the Hungarian league, and nothing bad happened,Fink is an lousy person,I think it might be him that caused the incident with Bešić.
I made a comment about him on one forum when his first season at Ferencvaros ended,it was something like:''I wanna cry when I see someone so talented playing for a club like Ferencvaros and not being mentioned by any club in transfer roumor mills''.It was when he signed i three year deal with them I think,he was the best foreign player that year, and one year later,he was the best player of the league, playing on his third best position CB,his best are CM and DM. I watched some games of the Hungarian league in which he was involved he didnt look human comparing him to other players on the pitch.

Looks an ideal replacement for Osman - who now is just a bench warmer in the future last 20 mins etc- he looks the business does Besic full of pace, skill, and endeavour!

I just can't believe he has always played a defensive role...He has amazing ball control, Passing range and can dribble....

He has a good shooting abilty too,its underestimated,he can shoot with his left as good as he can shoot with his right.

I hope he will showcase that,he scored some amazing left foot volleys during his time at Bosnia u21 side.

I believe a Hungarian supporter earlier in the thread spoke about how the Hungarian League refs are quick to pull out cards, something like 6-8 yellows minimum in a game. Besic might be able to get away with some challenges here that he was being penalized for in Hungary.

I have a feeling we'll be running a poll for Besic this season

"How many red cards will Besic get?"

3 in the PL. 5 in all competitions would be my guess.
