Having mixed traits of all of those would not make you a perfect footballer unless you had them all perfected at the same level as the aforementioned. You can have all of those traits perhaps being less so good at them but still having them all which could make you a good player. I don't know why you are trying to make a stupid argument, it's a little bit pedantic and childish.

I am not making him out to be a world beater i a claiming he seems to have similar traits to players that we have at our club which is a positive thing.

I'm not saying he's better than any of them or worse, i am saying he seems to share all of their traits. That isn't stating that he is world class like you seem to be saying i am.

I'm sorry but what?

If you have 'the passing of Gibson' then you've got passing that is of a similar standard and range. If you are 'less good at them' then you haven't got Gibson's passing.

I'm not trying to cause an argument I'm just genuinely lost.

Right final comment as you are lost. I was not being LITERAL with those comments i was making a passing comment about him having very similar traits to those, it was not a comment to be taking as a literal exactly the same passing exactly the same engine etc as no player is actually the same as another.

It was meant as he has similar, i am sorry for your confusion on my part.

Will pick up loads of yellows if he continues going in like that.

Also needs to release the ball earlier, could have played a simple ball forward on more then one occasion but chose instead to do his little trademark turn back to goal. Has quick feet though. Still not match fit, so too early to judge.

Thought McCarthy put Barry, Gibson and Besic in the shade tonight. Doesn't stop, is quick to ball, composed and goes in for everything. Got further forward in the second half as well. Smashing player.

Think it's a bit weird everyone's debating who's going to be the best two holding midfielders to start this season. The great thing is, for the first time in ages, we've got options with four very different accomplished midfielders with a blend of different abilities. It won't be so much whose the best player but what the game plan is for a certain game.
Like if we want to play a super high tempo pressing game (think first half away at Arsenal) you might want to go Besic / McCarthy. If you think you might get joy in one-on-ones vs their full backs you might start Gibson to look to switch play quickly with 40 yard balls.
It's like with all their skills they've got all bases covered. Bloody exciting though innit.
