Susic was preasured by Bosnian fans and media to call Bešić for the WC since he obviosuly didnt watch him at Hungarian league(mostly bcs you dont expect such a player to be there). Nothing against Hungarian league, you just dont expect a complete player there, sure, you can expect prospects that could help in the future, but a player that can play at the highest level,no,you could never expect that, unless you watched some Ferencvaros games.
About that Brazilian guy(I forgot his name),He was a striker or a shadow striker as I recall, nothing special except his tehnique about him to be honest,he was good, but he would never be good at clubs like Everton tbh. Tough i didnt watch enough from him.
Besic wont be the teams new captain,it will be Dzeko or Begovic if Misimovic retires and he most probably will.
But Bosnians look good in midfield, there is a young prospect only 20 years old named Sanjin Prcic that just signed for Rennes.
I have a friend that played with both Besic and Prcic(Prcic is also a CM but more offensive oriented) at the u21 national team, and he said that Prcic is better than Besic which is amazing to hear from a player that understands the game quite well.
I think he wont calm down ever, since its his style of play, but as he gets more respect he will get less yellow cards.
He has really impressed me lately it seems that he has upgraded his game for a bit which is amazing.

Sounds like some sort of Brazilian football ninja, what's a shadow striker?
Its so much more fierce sounding that an inverted number 8 or whatever everyone was trying to work out the meaning of the other day.

What's your position... shadow striker... whoooaaar.

Sorry mate.. good post though.

It's really telling is how much respect he's earnt from those that have watched him in hungary that they would make an account here just to get excited on our behalf, combined with how quickly he's justified their excitement by impressing a bunch of spoilt premiership fans like us in two stints during pre-season. The fact he's doing things we are grinning at already says everything about his quality and mentality.

This lad is definitely quality.

Sry,Shadow Striker is a term I learned when I was a kid playing PES and ISS,and I use it from then.

And ''8'' is a German thing, they put players on the field acording to a classic number on the shirt of a player playing that position

2- is a right back
3-left back
4-CB
5-CB
6-Defensive midfield
7-Winger
8-CM or offensive mitfield
9-Striker
10-Playmaker the man behind the striker or the infamous shadow striker
11-Striker

Thanks for the ''good post'' thing tough. :D

I believe You and it's quite good news for the Bosnians (Prcic). I'd rather give the captain title for Begovic then, Dzeko seemed selfish for me through the WC, obviously he was the star for them before the tournament but showed little of it. I was afraid that Besic can't handle this game level, it was like jumping through the Grand Canyon after practicing with 1 meter wide holes but he showed his maturity there. For me his best game was the match against Nigeria: around the 75th minute all Bosnians seemed to give up except for him and he nearly chased his teammates to the draw.

I'm already at the point where I'd like to see 3 of Besic, McCarthy & one of Barry or Gibson all playing at once.

Barry to hold. Besic and McCarthy to get up and down. Would allow Baines, Coleman, Barkley, Mirallas and Lukaku complete freedom

I'm only joking about the shadow thing, but I do love it, maybe every position should be as sinisterly named, RW is the Wraith Slayer who plays in front of the Night Stalker, who covered well for the Day bringer, long ball to the Shadow Striker.. Would make commentary so much more interesting :)

Cheers for the number 8 info... What's an inverted one though?
Is it this?

The game's moved on since then though. I think if Keane started out today he'd have a problem establishing himself as a legend...although it does help to be signed by a club like United where the refs will allow a player to be more physical and not punish it.

Closer to home, he seems similar to Olly Dacourt.

I hope he can keep his worst excesses in check because he looks to be a cracking player for the money spent out.

far, far better than Dacourt.

No. I hadn't heard of him. But if someone gets the plaudits he did in the WC in the past you could guarantee the fee would be very high.

I'm not complaining like, just puzzled.

Interesting fact about Besic: he's the Bosnian ambassador for this charitable organisation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmaus_Mouvement

The main reason is probably that he comes from a region no one takes seriously footballwise. 10 years ago you could buy some amazing talents in South America for surprisingly low prices, but not today when all the teams scout that area heavily. Unlike there, Eastern Europe is not regarded highly by the best leagues despite the fact that more and more decent players are coming from there (from Croatia, Serbia, Romania, now Bosnia too etc.), but you can still buy them at a cut price.
