The last person I remember acting like this as a youngster was our very own Roy Keane(Co. Cork , that is).
Keane was a very talented young player ,spotted by Brian Clough and put into the first team almost immediately .
However he was a real handful, off and on the pitch and SAF persisted with him for one reason only..he was that good.
Besic has a little bit of the Keane edge to him , on and off the field apparently.
Let's hope he develops into the player Keane was.

The game's moved on since then though. I think if Keane started out today he'd have a problem establishing himself as a legend...although it does help to be signed by a club like United where the refs will allow a player to be more physical and not punish it.

Closer to home, he seems similar to Olly Dacourt.

I hope he can keep his worst excesses in check because he looks to be a cracking player for the money spent out.

The thing is we need to see him when the things dont go as good as he expects them to go.
When he is frustrated,on the other hand he has so much potential, and he played for Ferencvaros,a team that couldnt win the Hungarian league, and nothing bad happened,Fink is an lousy person,I think it might be him that caused the incident with Bešić.
I made a comment about him on one forum when his first season at Ferencvaros ended,it was something like:''I wanna cry when I see someone so talented playing for a club like Ferencvaros and not being mentioned by any club in transfer roumor mills''.It was when he signed i three year deal with them I think,he was the best foreign player that year, and one year later,he was the best player of the league, playing on his third best position CB,his best are CM and DM. I watched some games of the Hungarian league in which he was involved he didnt look human comparing him to other players on the pitch.
You have eyes for it :) We had a brazilian phenomen (in our level he was the other one who didn't look human compared to the other players) in our team along with Besic but honestly I wasn't excited about him for a minute. All I could watch again and again was Mo's play. When You know that something really amazing happens in front your eyes: a teenage boy turning into a classic player. And that's why I'm not stressed about his mentality at Everton: he started to grow up, he had a calm German footballer as his 'mentor' at the team and the last half year's coach Thomas Doll's mentality was also very good for him. He taught him strictly and Mo liked to work with, taking all his advices. I think this was the reason he got the invitation for the national team. And today the Bosnain captain Spahic ended his carrier for the national team and there were gossips right after the world cup that the team and the captain wants Mo to be captain of the Bosnian national team. That is a huge responsibility so if he becomes captain then I think he'll chill down in no time because he plays and 'works' the best under pressure.

£4M for this feller.

What's the catch?

Everything we've seen in the WC and for Everton suggests he should be valued far, far higher than that. Unless other clubs think he's a massive disciplinary liability I just dont understand this price.
Till now he didn't prove at any strong European leagues and the other reason is that played at the Hungarian league. The market is tricky: Zoltán Gera worth 1 million this spring when he was PL player, now he plays back at Ferencváros and worth today half of it. Just like this, price goes down in 3-4 months because of the League.

Susic was preasured by Bosnian fans and media to call Bešić for the WC since he obviosuly didnt watch him at Hungarian league(mostly bcs you dont expect such a player to be there). Nothing against Hungarian league, you just dont expect a complete player there, sure, you can expect prospects that could help in the future, but a player that can play at the highest level,no,you could never expect that, unless you watched some Ferencvaros games.
About that Brazilian guy(I forgot his name),He was a striker or a shadow striker as I recall, nothing special except his tehnique about him to be honest,he was good, but he would never be good at clubs like Everton tbh. Tough i didnt watch enough from him.
Besic wont be the teams new captain,it will be Dzeko or Begovic if Misimovic retires and he most probably will.
But Bosnians look good in midfield, there is a young prospect only 20 years old named Sanjin Prcic that just signed for Rennes.
I have a friend that played with both Besic and Prcic(Prcic is also a CM but more offensive oriented) at the u21 national team, and he said that Prcic is better than Besic which is amazing to hear from a player that understands the game quite well.
I think he wont calm down ever, since its his style of play, but as he gets more respect he will get less yellow cards.
He has really impressed me lately it seems that he has upgraded his game for a bit which is amazing.

Not bad in the world cup
