Moyes 'The ungrateful irritant'

No fan who argues that the Baines bid, if Moyes decided the amount, was an insult from our former manager, is bitter.

A fan who looks at a compliment and reads it as an insult is letting bitterness get the better of them.

I'm not saying it's 100% certain that this was intended as a compliment, but I do believe it was and while there could be reasons to be angry at Moyes, this isn't one of them. It's grim reading people winding themselves up over nothing.

True mate. But can understand why people are a bit p****d off with him? I agree with you, I think people have taken this latest comment out of context, but I can't blame anyone for being angry with the man after how he's conducted himself.

I get the reasons behind people fuming. I won't try to suggest he's acted like a saint, nor will I commit to saying his actions were all spiteful and disrespectful towards the club. I don't think there's conclusive enough evidence either way. I am not blaming people for getting wound up over the Baines bid, for example, but I do think it's daft and tiring to see the same level of fume for literally everything he does, be it compliment or otherwise.

I must have missed the compliment. Granted, I've only read his headline comments, but if that's what you're referring to I fail to see how his barbed assessment of our new manager and Everton's stepping stone role in his career are complimentary.

It's a calculated dig at the way we've just got on under Martinez and left him and his ways behind. He's seething with it. Make no mistake. The feller has an ego the size of a Led Zeppelin. And all he has to show for his post Everton efforts is the doubts of the nation that he's capable of doing the job he was hired to do.

I thought we did anyway as he was a boring manager!

I don't think he was a boring manager mate. Just look at some off the football we played in the first third of last season, when he took the shackles off the team. We were scintillating at times.

He's just a naturally defensive minded manger and reverted back to type once things started to get serious last season. It was the negativity that irritated me most about him.

People who disagree with this fact hate hearing it and least of all from him and so will use it to paint him as some sort of big-headed fool, which, unfortunately for them, is largely incorrect.

He's saying he built a good team, but he's giving the players full credit for that.

How he should have to act like he left Martinez a sack of sh*te as a squad and RM is a genius for turning it all around is beyond me. He didn't. He left Martinez just about as good a foundation to build on as is possible for an Everton manager.

Bitter, bitter blues. Get over it and move on. If people really can't listen to him without looking for reasons to piss themselves off, I don't know why they bother.

Mate I wouldn't bother if I was you every player that leaves us turns out to be crap and hated so its no big suprise that when the manager left the same would happen. last season I said Baines wasn't the best LB in the universe and got neg repped Into oblivion
Now you can see them all making there excuses in case he leaves in jan they'll be cursing his name and twisting everything he says in the media as well.

Am not denying that moyes has said some knob things in the papers but am not going to ruin my life worrying about it. Moyes said stuff about other teams while he was with us and we thought it was grate ow the shoe is on the other foot people do t find it so funny.

Something psychologically unsound about Moyes.

Rampant ego, arrogance etc coexisting with insecurity, inferiority complex etc. Barely repressed hostility (fans questioning subs, journalists at press conferences, decking his player at Preston) mixed with born again religious pacifism (players never questioning the ref no matter how absurd the decision etc).
