Moyes 'The ungrateful irritant'

People who disagree with this fact hate hearing it and least of all from him and so will use it to paint him as some sort of big-headed fool, which, unfortunately for them, is largely incorrect.

He's saying he built a good team, but he's giving the players full credit for that.

How he should have to act like he left Martinez a sack of sh*te as a squad and RM is a genius for turning it all around is beyond me. He didn't. He left Martinez just about as good a foundation to build on as is possible for an Everton manager.

Bitter, bitter blues. Get over it and move on. If people really can't listen to him without looking for reasons to piss themselves off, I don't know why they bother.
Tbf mate I was being flippant, as is my wont, but I don't wholly disagree with what you are saying. People get so wound up by what he's said over the past 5 months it's crazy.
He's doing what he thinks is right by trying to endear himself to a new set of fans by ****ging off his old team a bit, so what? Who cares? Half the time he isnt even insulting Everton, people are just twisting it to suit a narrative they have. Who are the people that annoys? not Moyes. He did a very good job here, which shouldn't go unnoticed by Evertonians, but it seems we are on the up and up with Martinez.
Moyes bought the tools, Martinez is carving the masterpiece as it were. Not really arsed about what he says or how he says it or why as long as Everton keep pushing hard near the top.

Haven't seen his press conference but I just read the comments he made.

What can you say about that?

- Everton were a good place for him to be at that stage of his career = well that sort of puts us in our little pathetic place then doesn't it? What we all knew about him, I suppose: it was Moyes first, last and always with Everton way down the pecking order.

- Martinez is doing a great job keeping it going = no, ginger bollox, he's being tearing down your sterile defeatist approach and finding a whole new way for this club to progress.

- I told them they could play and they dont need a manager = no, you put the sh1ts up them in important matches and they bottled it each and every time because you passed your loser stink onto them.

He's taken the champions of England and dragged them down to 8th place in the league. Absolutely comical that this tactical [Poor language removed] has control of one of the biggest clubs in the world. They must be on crack cocaine in that United boardroom.

I was never his biggest fan as our manager. Neither was I his biggest detractor. I was glad to see him go, but grateful for what he did at our club, and I applauded him at Chelsea for his last game in charge. I even wished him well.

Then all the s***e started. His bids for our players were just business. Insulting, but just business. But his comments regarding these transfers and Everton in general have made my blood boil.

I don't care about the context or tone of his comments regarding this thread, I just hope he crashes and burns for the disrespect he's showed to the club that has put him where he is today.

I can't wait for tomorrow night, and the return fixture in April.

This. 100%, that's my exact sentiment.

Dave spot on as always

Mate I agree with you regarding this thread. The tone and context of the comments seemed complimentary, but how can you possibly think he's showed us nothing but disrespect prior to this recent press conference?

Saying he would sell Baines and Felli if he was Everton boss so as to not hold their careers back and that setting a team up to play against Chelsea as Man U boss is different as Manu boss, as your setting your team up to win.

All this on top of how he conducted himself while utd were courting him (replace that with tapping up if you like), shows our club total disrespect. As I've said in my post before, I was glad to see him go, but wished him well. So I don't type this with the pain of a jilted lover. I'm just reacting to his behaviour towards Everton since he left.

I'm only referring to how people are interpreting these isolated quotes. Not the Baines bid or any previous comments.

I'm just sick of hearing people fume over everything he says about us. I think it's largely needless and makes us look bitter.

Moyes has undergone a rapid personality transplant.

He was never the most likeable fella, but since moving on from plucky old Everton to the champions of England he's believed his own hype and really let the fame go to his head, as if insulting us and undermining us at every occasion will eventually lead to his name being removed from our history so that he can simply be known as David Moyes of Manchester United.

"I always told them they could play without a manager"

What does this even mean !!!!

I think it's his way of blowing his own trumpet - kinda like him saying he drilled them so well when he was manager that they're set for life. Just my interpretation of it.

Like I said, some have a narrative and people wilfully misinterpret to suit it.
You don't have to be a disciple of Moyes or whatever to get a little bored of people flogging him over very little.
