going back as far as TG jones ,dixie tommy lawton, joe mercer harry catterick, alex young , roy vernon , ray willson, labby, bally, HK colin harvey , big bob,big nev reidy tricky trev sheeds , sharpy waggy and many more all had great success at OUR GREAT CLUB, NONE OF THEM THOUGHT THEY WERE BIGGER THAN EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB ,ENTER david moyes

I was never his biggest fan as our manager. Neither was I his biggest detractor. I was glad to see him go, but grateful for what he did at our club, and I applauded him at Chelsea for his last game in charge. I even wished him well.

Then all the s***e started. His bids for our players were just business. Insulting, but just business. But his comments regarding these transfers and Everton in general have made my blood boil.

I don't care about the context or tone of his comments regarding this thread, I just hope he crashes and burns for the disrespect he's showed to the club that has put him where he is today.

I can't wait for tomorrow night, and the return fixture in April.

Totally agree with Shaun! Just hope hes allowed enough time at OT bring them to their knees!

Regardless of interpretation placed on the divvy's comments just look at the concrete reality:

- even today he's still peddling a line that he left on a spare of the moment decision when SAF has already underlined phone conversations were in full swing on the matter just after the turn of last year. He's lying through his teeth trying to retain some dignity over the matter. Give him a free pass if you like, most (correctly) wont.

- he's halfway through the process of cherry picking the two best performers of the team he had here...as if they were his own personal collection he could turn up with a knife at our throat and get a two for one bargain offer on last summer. He's not on if he thinks he can talk his way out of that. It was a spit in the face. Turn the other cheek though if you like.

I can't even be arsed to find the facts to look at them and make my mind up anymore tbh. I don't care. He's United manager now. His opinion is invalid unless he's complimenting us, as far as I'm concerned.

Things are working out well for us so far, so I cannot be arsed being bitter about this, personally. We robbed him in the Fellaini deal, it doesn't look like we're their b*tches in the transfer market anymore and he's entitled to buy Everton players as manager of another club and at the best price he can get.

He could have just said how well organised the players were and that they're professional enough not to be negatively affected by a change of manager. He could have just said Roberto is doing a really good job. Instead he frames it in terms of himself as per.

Personally I wouldn't have expected anything different, he's always saying things trying to work the media to his or whatever club he happens to be at's advantage because that's what he thinks a good manager does. You seldom get an actual opinion out of him. It's nothing to get worked up about, but at the same time I'm surprised people think he's being absolutely genuine.

This game is bigger for him that RM or anyone else involved.

We win, we go 5 points ahead of him.

That would truelly be a kick in the balls, the man that replaced him has made his every word while at Everton look bull****e, and shown him up.

Moyes needs to win this game,

Bingo.

There is no hiding place for him tomorrow night.

If we play the better football and emerge unbeaten, 75,000 United fans will see for themselves how much EFC have improved since he left us and how much they have gone back since he joined them.

They will have seen how a team which usually went out and circled the wagons there are suddenly let loose off the leash.

Tomorrow night could well be where the honeymoon period at OT comes to a halt for The Moyesiah.

Please make it so, Bobby.....(y)

You guys are just making yourself look bitter, finding everything wrong with him.

He didn't say anything wrong enough for the outrage some people are feeling.
It is history, onwards and upwards, not need to dwell on him.

He did an amazing job for us and now we are in another stage and we should be glad we had him to change our team

It's quite simple - Everton doing well undermines his reputation, and thus hurts his standing at United at a critical time.

Moyes built up his reputation, fueled by the national media who were constantly looking for 'The Successor to Fergie' (and were being briefed constantly by Utd sources for years that Moyes was 'the one') that everything Everton achieved was down to him and him alone and that the club would completely fall apart without him.

The club hasn't, it has gained a new lease of life under a far more positive manager, who plays a better brand of football than Moyes, and who signed 4 players in the current side, and plays a 5th (Barkley) whom Moyes refused to play.

That's bound to result in the Utd hierarchy and fans looking at Moyes and wondering if they got it wrong - if he really was as crucial to Everton as was made out. Lets get this straight - we don't have the same team we had under Moyes last season. We have up to 5 new players in the side (nearly half the team) and we play a completely different system.

Moyes is clearly a little bitter. Think of it from his position - he thought he was the dogs bollocks, yet as soon as he leaves, everyone raves about Martinez and how things are so much better. His ego has bound to have taken a knock.

And be glad he's gone, and enjoy a brand of football we could only dream about, happy days are here again.

Did fantastic work but feels like every word he speaks just chips away at what should be a fond legacy.

I don't want to remember him as bitter, or spiteful or as a liar but he's doing his best to convince me otherwise.

No, just objecting to his back-handed compliments.

It's not just Evertonians who have pointed this out, journos on twitter have also commented on this.

Moyes knows what he's doing. In the same way he knew what he was doing when he was pleading with Everton to 'not hold back Baines & Fellaini by making them stay' and the 'I know exactly how Everton works' stuff, attempting to undermine Martinez in the summer.

Apart from the 'fond legacy' bit, I agree.

He improved us at the time, he didn't leave a legacy.
