I think its obvious that with better recruitment we would have walked to 6th place. The worst 2 signings and by some distance are Barry who doesn't look like a footballer and Dibling where I just don't see where he fits in to the system. 50-60m completely wasted and they're both now probably only worth half of what we paid.
Yes but who signed off on those players

Why should we ‘be excited’ about younger players getting into the 11 next season?

Doesn’t guarantee anything in terms of performance, probably weakens it based on what we have seen from these players so far.

It's more what it suggests. Younger players coming through, imply progression planning. The absence of younger players coming through suggests a survival mindset.

A club needs to inspire hope in it's fans. I've said it before, but for me that's an area where Moyes is severely lacking. Nice fella, good manager, but you know what you'll get and it doesn't inspire.

20 year old Moroccan international attacking LB with Bayern & Barca pedigree.

20 year old England u21 international considered to be a future 10 and with high technical ability and premier league experience.

England u19 international captain. Good all round midfielder and local player from the youth team.

VS

Dwight 'left foot snail' McNeil
Vitalii 'defender' Mykolenko
Idrissa 'ageless' Gana Gueye

How could anyone not be excited to watch those 3 and Moyes take the handbrake off?

Why would he ditch us? Because he has’t signed a new deal at Palace!

Would you sign a deal at palace…that board will sell his best players as thats how clubs like that operate.

Plus IF he ditches us after a year he’d have had a hell of year to attract the interest

But yeah i mean lets all look forward to more early cup exits, sh1ting the derby and mid table finishes under moyes & most importantly NO trophies

Clever plan mate
And what's your clever plan mate? Throwing your toys out of the pram and begging a proven mercenary to please give us a chance?! Give me a break ffs. If you want to get rid of Moyes then we should at least go for someone who is a realistic target, who wants to build somthing lasting here and who won't bin us off the first chance he gets. Glasner is none of those things.

Proven Mercenary!!

Ok Remind me who was speaking to Man United while telling kenwright he was likely to sign a new deal?!?!?

Oh thats Right Moyes

So because Moyes left (following the his contract expiring btw) to take what was at the time the biggest job in world club football, he's the same as the guy who'll just ditch any club in the middle of his contract. Get a grip man. I don't want Moyes here long term either, but you're living in a dream world if you're seriously saying that his behaviour is anything like Glasner.

Aren't they just, he's been trouble almost everywhere he's been.
Treated Palace fans like 💩

Just in case people have forgotten, we had his twin, Koeman

I wouldn’t say that Moyes treated Everton with respect in the way he left or in his subsequent transfer dealings with us so don’t think this argument helps the case for Moyes.

Dibling very obviously fits on the right if he were actually at a PL level. He's just not close to that.

January 2025: Moyes takes over the club 1 point above the relegation zone

15 months later people are saying we've stagnated because we are 10th (1 points off 6th) and that we should ditch Moyes.

Never change you doom-mongers of GOT 🥰
But we have stagnated. The team was better the second Moyes took over and was only as low as they were because Sean Dyche is a joke of a manager. A none joke manger immediately got them to their true level. That level is the exact same 15 months on. That’s stagnation.

Realistically he has had 1.5 trasnfer windows (Jan is half a window as theres never any quality)

That's not stagnation, its improvement. Stagnation would be getting the same results next season.

We are 1 point off 6th

You're right. Glasner told Palace he was leaving. Moyes kept Kenwright in the dark while signing a deal with United behind his back. They're all mercenaries. Moyes did what any mercenary would when he left us - except he played both sides for his own ends and left the man who appointed him in the lurch. If he wouldn't do that to us now it's only because he has no better options.
