But we have stagnated. The team was better the second Moyes took over and was only as low as they were because Sean Dyche is a joke of a manager. A none joke manger immediately got them to their true level. That level is the exact same 15 months on. That’s stagnation.
Yep always find it strange that people can't see this. Last season Moyes got 1.63 PPG, this season he's got 1.42 PPG. That's stagnation, not progress.

Apparently Moyes was ‘told’ by whiskey chops he was replacing him on the 7th May before announcing his retirement next day.
Utd then announced Moyes as his replacement on the 9th. May.
This was all while we had a contract on the table for him apparently.
This was published on 10th May where Moyes says he was going to extend and was planning his Everton pre season.

Glasner told Palace he wasn’t renewing in Oct last year.

So even if the true timeline started earlier than that, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say Moyes was a bit underhand, and certainly not as up front as Glasner was.
Eho cares. Was years ago.
Crap result yesterday but it’s been an enjoyable season. And haven’t said that very often in the last decade

When Moyes first came back to the club a lad I play darts with (a Notts County fan) asked me what I thought about it. I think he thought I was going to be made up but I said to him that it will almost certainly mean that we won't be involved in any more relegation battles but that we almost certainly won't be challenging to win anything. I feel exactly the same way today as I did 15 months ago. So, the question of whether he should stay or go probably depends upon what you want out of supporting Everton Football Club. Stability and safety = stay, want to challenge for a pot or two = go, imo. I'd be curious to see how the vote broke down by generation. I'm old enough to remember us winning things and would very much like to see that again before I snuff it, I wonder if anyone under the age of 40 and has never seen us win anything in living memory is as bothered?

People's feelings about Moyes coming back here for a second stint were always going to be heavily influenced by memories of his first 11 year spell at the club.

For people that don't want Moyes everything feels depressingly familiar and predictable. There's a feeling that we know what we're going to see, what the limits are and it's not particularly exciting. Speaking for myself it's just not really what I had envisioned with new owners and a new stadium offering an opportunity for a real fresh start.

For people that do want Moyes, I'm guessing there's comfort in the familiarity. Loyalty born out of respect for what he built the first time around, and probably a bit of loyalty to what he represents as the last real traditional 'football man' left in the PL. And to be fair after the last few years of Everton it's right to point out, Moyes will never have you in real danger of relegation.

I do wonder what the perception of Moyes and this season would be like if there was no previous connection there. Probably a lot less extreme on both sides.

Maybe support city mate. They have a better chance of instant success. Im happy biding my time and watching the club grow because thats what it needs

It needs great players and a winning mentality.

We have had the placebo talk about projects and Rome wasn’t built in a day many times over.

The manager stabilised things last season and we still have people talk about needing it.
