The same Glasner who has won a club who never won a trophy

Who has had his best players sold yet still gets results!
He'd ditch us within a year. And you'd all be calling for him to be placed inside a wickerman long before that after his first bad result anyway.

The same man who has a solid chance of winning another trophy with a club who never wins a trophy.

While we have a manager who's been here 13 years and won nothing and apart from one season never looked like winning anything.

Oh and his football is poor too.

Get him gone.

There's ambition and then there's being a blatant mercenary who will ditch everyone the second it suits him. That's what Glasner is. A user who will ditch us first chance he gets without a backwards glance.

That's football. The same clubs will ditch him the second it suits them too.

But in terms of what he has given the clubs he's been at;

Tookover Wolfsburg in 2019, 7th and Europa League first season, 4th and champions league second season. He left, they've been bottom half ever since.

Tookover Frankfurt mid 2021, won Europa League in 2022, ending 42-year wait for a trophy.

Tookover Palace 2024 - won FA Cup 2025, their first worthwhile trophy in their entire history wasn't it? Probably win that Conference league too even after big sales.

He's won more since 2022 than Moyes will in his life - he's not a flavour of the month is my point, he's achieved big time 3 clubs on the spin.

Its not just football though. Some managers aren't blatant mercenaries. They might leave a club they outgrow but most of them don't just bin off literally every club they manage the second it suits them. If it was just Palace where he'd behaved like this I'd think differently. But its everywhere he's been.

Three clubs in six years.
Granted he's a very good manager, there's no doubt, but he wouldn't be here 5 minutes. That's my concern.

The last sentence of your Wolfsberg comment say's it all.

The same Glasner who has crapped on and binned off every single club he's been at the second it suited him? Yeah we would be better off. He's another Koeman just waiting to happen.

Plays 3 at the back as well, an absolute non-starter for us. I think he's too aloof for a fanbase like ours. Very icy personality which won't go over well during sticky patches. Koeman is a good comparison tbh.

I like Keith Andrews. Young coach with good communication skills but crucially isn't one of these hipsters obsessed with philosphy or his wardrobe. He's been brilliantly pragmatic for Brentford. Needs to carry it on next season but I think the fella's going to have a really good career in management.

It's ironic that the conservative Moyes who is risk-averse is the choice of conservatives who are risk-averse.

Replacing him will be a risk - but staying with him means we'll be having the very same conversations this time next year having failed in another derby and been eliminated from both domestic cups.

In other words, he has to be replaced and we have to get the replacement right. I wouldn't back Kinnear and co to do that and I remain unconvinced that the owners want anything more than stability. But the idea that we can achieve something serious with Moyes is for the birds. We've had 14 years of coming up short. Why would Year 15 be different?

Great point. And you've changed my opinion and vote.

I was about to post, that although I really don't like Moyes, his negativity, conservatism, predictability, lack of in game management, etc. etc. I am concerned that a change now is a gamble and we could end up worse off. After the last few seasons, another season or so, of mid-table mediocrity (which is what we'll get) under Moyes, is preferable to another potential relegation struggle and games and results like yesterday is something that we'll just have to accept. The price we'll have to pay.

But . . . that line above is spot on and has made me realise, I'm Moyes!!! I can't expect Moyes to take a more positive approach when his career and livelihood is at stake if I can't handle the risk as a supporter that a change of manager might not be the success we hope.

Moyes has to go at the end of the season if we want to (potentially) progress. Take the risk. Do it.

The goalposts are moving here.

The point I picked up on was;

The Glasner shouts are laughable. Just the latest hipster flavour of the month who you'd all turn on within a couple of weeks.

Aren't they just, he's been trouble almost everywhere he's been.
Treated Palace fans like 💩

Just in case people have forgotten, we had his twin, Koeman

So you've gone from flavour of the month/fans would turn on him, to "he'd leave us whenever he likes"

We've gone from "he's Koeman" to "he's a very good manager, no doubt"

Not many managers last beyond 1-3 years anyway, fans would turn on him, or he'd lose his rag. Absolutely nothing against a manager who is demanding more.

But my point here was on the comments around hipster flavour of the month. I don't see that at all with him.

Would his mentality fit with Everton? Probably not. But maybe that's what we need - uncompromising ambition other than be careful what you wish for.

We won't get him anyway so its a waste both our times even discussing it. Moyes isn't going anywhere. Deal with it.
