lollollol

He never kept Sunderland competitive at all, he was laughed out of sociedad and is still referee to a la gînge nobhèad, he's widely considered as the worst Utd manger of the last 50 odd years and at West Ham he had something like a 30% win rate

He's finished as a manager now, respect what he did for us but time to move on

Love to see your evidence mate.
Simply not so !.
You may be able to provide some twitter troll, or a random post on a fan forum from Manure , but I bet (taking into account) money spent etc there were many more about others !

Unsworth.

All we need is a caretaker, and he's perfect because he has absolutely no chance of taking the role permanently and won't rock the boat.

We are safe from relegation. It's a no brainer.

Moyes would be a disaster. A complete admission of no ambition whatsoever.

Unsworth took us even closer to relegation last time mind.

Just no to either.....

Unsworth not good enough, Moyes no longer good enough

We need three points in my opinion to be safe, season is a write off, evaluate in the summer both players and managerial team.

But this should be a Brands call, let him do his job

Moyes did indeed give us stability and despite what davek may say it wasn't just hoofball. I think he couldn't take us any further, and Kenwright & co were happy just to jog along with the situation. He overstayed his tenure by about 5 years imo...if the hierachy had had more ambition at the time (ha ha) we would have been looking for someone who could have possibly taken us to another level, but the situation just deteriorated, culminating in his ignominious departure from the club. Step forward Billy liar (again) who appoints Martinez.............but that's the start of the real horror story. Unsworth is no way a first team manager and certainly not of us....next thing you know people will be advocating Eddie Howe and David Wagner. :dodgy::dodgy:

I do wonder about this a bit you know. Sunderland were a basket case, the fact he got them to be broadly competitive was a decent effort. He kept West Ham up last year, with next to no money when they looked gone for the wind, that was a good job done. He kept Sociedad up, defeated Barca, was doing ok until they moved him on. Even United have taken 3-4 years to look like they have finally clicked post Ferguson. I am not sure he's half as bad as people make out.
Shhh - don’t be reasonable!

Disgraceful, entitled blues denigrating the achievements of David Moyes in this thread.

I'll tell you this we were finished before Moyes came in. Administration was a whisker away. Our chairman told us we had nothing. There was no Sky Deals and Everton had narrowly escaped relegation in the 90s.

We'd become small time. That's right, a laughing stock. That man took us from nowhere and gave us some self respect back. Season after season with no money we managed 4th,5th 6th,7th. In my eyes he was perfect for us at that time. A time of austerity.

The way he left us was unfortunate and could've been handled better. However he'd been very loyal and respectful to us throughout his tenure. A hard Scotsman that came from Preston North End for crying out loud. Yes he won nothing. Yes his teams bottled the very big games. Yes sometimes his tactics may have been too cautious.

Could any of you have done better though with what he had. I thought as much...

He ain't right for us anymore for sure. We all move on don't we. However look at the state of us with all our money.

We are pathetic.

So show some class and don't pull him down. The fella did good and I'd shake his hand in thanks if I ever met him.

Achievements.

LOL

As ever nothing is black and white always grey.
Yes he did stabilise us and he also built some good teams. It wasn’t all hoofball , but it was predicated on defensive play and for long periods was sterile.
More importantly his teams always choked at important moments, failing to seize the opportunity when it was presented and retreating into their defensive shell.
He was here for 11 years yet won nothing even though in that time not everything was won by the elite clubs.
As a person , many supporters who had the misfortune to encounter him on pre season tours or European matches will tell you he never gave the impression of identifying with our support or even particularly liking Evertonians not overly important at the time but it did make the manner of his departure less of a surprise than it maybe was to others.
That departure and it’s aftermath was totally disrespectful to everyone at this club and left a very sour taste which still lingers for me.
Let’s also not forget despite winning nowt in 11years he ensured he was one of the best paid managers in the richest league in the world, nice work if you can get it.
If I were to meet him (again) I would ignore him ,which is far better than he deserves.

Excellent post, and without expletives.
