Moyes or Glasner?

I think Moyes is like a warm comfort blanket for them and us mate. He will eventually get us back to where we are when he left, the longer he stays. I personally won’t be surprised if he signs a new contract in the summer.

I think the task of replacing him is huge, given the model we’ve put in place and autonomy/authoirty we’ve given him.

I think it’s a huge and difficult decision and I think here is a tough gig - but I’d like us to be a bit braver - then who is the vouge Martinez pick in the PL at a lesser club at the time. Or go the opposite direction of the sage old safe hands or an Ancelotti, Allardyce or Dyche.

We also need coherence in continuity - by that I mean not jumping from style and philosophey from manager to manager change for change sake in term of identity. I.E Moyes - Martinez- Koeman etc.

It’s a huge decision and we approach it is key - we should have a shortlist now!
He won’t get us back to anywhere near where we were . It’s a different time to 20/15 yrs ago. Then 4 or 5 teams spent money now it’s 7/8 spend big money and they other 12 can spend good money every summer. Moyes’s negative style will always be his downfall. TFG won’t give him a new deal, no chance he wasn’t the man they wanted originally

Most managers would speak like that when they have had their captain sold the day before a game and most of their best players sold out from under them. Moyes took plenty of pot shots at the board last summer when we were not getting players in quick enough for his liking.
Palace also never built on that cup win which is just weak tbh. Parish is a poor chairman who is happy to make up the numbers and collect up the money, I feel a bit sorry for Palace fans tbh.
Oh, me too, Palace fans have had the best 10 months or so of their football-supporting lives.

Fans might applaud Glasner for speaking out like he did yesterday, but it makes his position untenable. Ok, maybe he felt empowered to do that because he knows he's leaving but I would now, as a prospective employer, go nowhere near him.

Speaking in absolutes is a dangerous habit mate. Assessing the present we are 6 points of a European spot, with a game in hand in 5th after yesterday - with our best players missing the last 5 games. I don’t personaly see that as an insurmountable chasim or really far from where we were when he left and it’s year 1..

His position is already untenable because he and his players know he's gone in a few months.

He wants to be sacked, because its best for him and indeed Palace to do do. Teams nowadays shouldn't allow managers to see out contracts.

Remember when Moyes was relegated at Sunderland. And sacked at United. And failed at Sociedad?

Managers won't always succeed at every club...

….i’ve always thought managerial appointments are lots to do with ‘right person, right place at the right time’, it’s why I never have strong opinions on who’s next when we have a vacancy.

Moyes will be here for his full tenure unless we get drawn into a relegation fight at some point, I’d be quite certain of that. I do like to see a decent career win % & Glasner certainly has that but I’d expect this is a pointless thread because he’ll be in a new position by the time Moyes’ contract runs out.

Well, we'd better stop dreaming of competing so. Mediocrity Moyes needs to be gone come the summer or Everton will continue to recede into his father Bill's comfortable irrelevance.

hes played different systems mate at previous clubs

He plays a variation of 3-4-2-1 or a 3-4-1-2 depending on the game, it can also flip during the match. I’m sure most people have watched, Palace, Frankfurt etc.

The wildest he’s ever got was what Moyes does here and that was down to circumstance a 4-2-3-1.

Ultimately he will always move toward the first .

You’d get big odds off the bookies we win as many away games in the 2nd half of the season, home from will dictate where we finish and at the moment the home from is terrible. Yes we have our best players to come back, so let’s see, but I’d be amazed if we finish top 10, you can’t set up for 0-0 and hope to get Europe

Seem like some of our fans @Eggs are happy for that to happen next season

It’s over more then one half of a season though isn’t it mate, what about the half a season before that….once in an anomaly, twice is a trend.

Aiming high again i see. Ffs Glasner🙄
Yep a far better bet than Moyes even though Moyes is above him in the League and Palace want him gone.
Old Moysie under some serious pressure even though he's lost Gueye,Ndaiye,KDH,Alcaraz, Branthwaite,Coleman and others.
6 weeks ago our first 11 had fight and Spirit. The weak and paper thin squad we have is nothing a Glasner could fix.
