I think Glasner will do great somewhere if he’s backed with a quality squad, I think he’s a very good manager.

I think Moyes has been given this season to build, keeps it steady and be better than last few years but next season he’ll be gone if we don’t have a big summer strengthening and then get Europe and someone like Glasner is probably the most likely kind of manager.

Depends..was Glasner responsible for the signings of Wharton, Eze, olisse, mateta, etc.etc? Or has he been relatively effective with a good recruitment team behind him?

Is a great point. He walked into a decent squad at palace and def made them better. The likes of munoz eze wharton sarr guehi mateta, think he only had olise for a few months, were all there ready for him. He didnt buy them.
He wont be walking into that at Everton. We clearly need to start somewhere though as Moyes is not the long term answer.
For all those spitting the dummy out over Moyes i'd like to just point out i think Glasner still has a better squad currently than Moyes and is sitting below him in the table.

Only we could suggest replacing a manager with one who hasn’t won a game in TEN.

His first season at palace he didn’t win in the league for the first 12 games? Was it? Oh that’s really going to sit well with people who here who want Moyes out for having a dip in form when missing half our starting eleven/squad.

It’s a no from me.

Thomas Frenk for me. Should have been a poll option, ffs Mooms.

I like Frank based on his record at Brentford. I think hes been Spurs'ed. Seems the players there don't like/respect him - [1st Nov]

If he doesn't see the season out there, I'll be really interested to see where/how he does next.

Though the likes of Mateta looked awful before Glasner rocked up.

[Edit] Just checked and;

Since Oliver Glasner's appointment as manager, Mateta has scored 13 goals in 13 Premier League appearances - more than any other player in the top flight during that time.

That tally means Mateta, who joined Palace in January 2021, has scored more in those 13 games than he had in his previous 80 Premier League outings for the club (11 goals)

Mateta is averaging a goal every 80 minutes under Glasner, compared to one every 305 minutes previously for Palace.

We have one of the best managers in the league currently and we are constantly wanting something different. We moan about Mcneil and Dibling, yet get on their back from the minute they have miscontrol the ball once. Its no wonder they cant get any confidence and perform badly at home. Lets just support the team and manager we have got and not hinder them

He is definitely in the top 20 of best managers in the league.

In the absence of a Wolfsburg or Eintracht Frankfurt fan, or anyone who has a clue of Bundesliga - he's an assessment of his time there according to our new AI overlords;

Here’s an assessment of Oliver Glasner’s impact at VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, focusing on what he achieved, the style he brought to each club, and the lasting influence of his tenure.

VfL Wolfsburg (2019–2021)

Performance and Results

  • Glasner arrived at Wolfsburg in 2019 and immediately improved stability and competitiveness in the Bundesliga, finishing 7th in his first season which qualified the club for the UEFA Europa League.
  • In his second season (2020/21), Wolfsburg achieved a 4th-place finish, securing UEFA Champions League qualification — one of the club’s best league results in recent history.

Style and Tactical Impact

  • His teams were known for defensive organisation and competitiveness: Wolfsburg conceded just 37 goals and kept 14 clean sheets in 2020/21, finishing second in both categories in the league.
  • Glasner demonstrated tactical flexibility — switching between a back three and back four depending on the opponent — and got strong performances out of key players like Wout Weghorst (45 goals in 84 games under Glasner).

Legacy at Wolfsburg

  • His 1.87 points per game average across his spell placed him among Wolfsburg’s most effective managers historically.
  • Although Wolfsburg hadn’t won a major trophy under him, he restored competitiveness and European qualification, raising expectations at the club level.

Overall Assessment
Glasner’s time at Wolfsburg established him as a coach capable of delivering European qualification and strong defensive organisation, solidifying his reputation and setting up his move to a club with more European ambitions.

Eintracht Frankfurt (2021–2023)

Performance and Results

  • Glasner took over Frankfurt in mid-2021 and delivered one of the club’s most historic achievements: winning the UEFA Europa League in 2022, ending a 42-year wait for European silverware.
  • In domestic league play his first season was more modest (11th in the Bundesliga), but the European run put Frankfurt firmly back on the continental stage.
  • The following campaign included a Champions League Round of 16 appearance and a run to the DFB-Pokal final, showing progress in multiple competitions.

Tactical and Cultural Influence

  • Glasner instilled intensity, pressing, and tactical rigor at Frankfurt, blending structured defence with rapid transitions. That helped them knock out big teams (including Barcelona and West Ham) en route to their Europa League success.
  • His management style and connection with fans boosted the club’s profile — the Europa League win sparked massive celebrations and energized supporters.

Challenges

  • Despite European success, Frankfurt’s Bundesliga form was inconsistent, which eventually led to the mutual parting at the end of his contract in 2023.

Legacy at Eintracht Frankfurt

  • Europa League success is the standout milestone — arguably the most important in the club’s modern history.
  • He helped re-establish Frankfurt on the European stage, proving the club could compete with elite competition despite Bundesliga inconsistency.

Overall Assessment
At Frankfurt, Glasner’s impact was historic rather than purely statistical. The Europa League triumph is the defining moment of his tenure, and it significantly raised both his and the club’s profile in European football.
