Exactly..
Wouldnt be the worst thing in the world to happen..
Right now we havent won ANY trophy with him and finish outside of the European spots.. He does well with transfers but thats about it.
Existing? he's taken us from relegation fodder to consistently finishing upper reaches of the league, on a budget of £10M net in 10 years.
Trapped in 4 years in the 80's some of our fanbase ffs.
He'sd improved us by about 8-10 league placings on average. No mean feat with no money but hardly the stuff of legend.
In an era where cash has been king in the PL, the age of the Billionaire benefactor, I think it's an exceptional record.
Not lifting a pot is obviously disappointing, he's made mistakes in certain cup games & we have come close, but anyone who doesn't consider his time at Goodison a success, is living on another planet to me.
The blokes been a success but coming off the back of Walter Smith has done him the world of good, he's been practically untouchable since day one & it's part of the reason why a manager with no tangible success at the top level is amongst the highest earners in World Football.
This is where thinking of us as a big successful club one of the institutions of the footballing world causes grief, because what he's done doesn't fit in with that - existing in the division was the the job of Coventry, Southampton, Charlton, and other non descripts.
You can be as sarcastic as you like but the question was asked when have we ever looked like winning a trophy? The answer was when we were 1-0 up in the final.
Of course you can dismiss Moyes lack of transfer power and Chelsea's hundreds of millions, the bad luck of losing our best players at the time and just go with sarcasm if it helps you feel better about slating the best thing that has happened to us in a couple of decades if you like. Preternding its all irrelevent doesn't make it so though.
I thought the German mentality was attack at all costs?
