j'accuse!
The answer is The Yardbirds.
Clapton, Page and Beck, (bit meh him mind), and hugely recognised in Merica as being important.
Less so over here.
I almost said the Yardbirds myself
had trouble choosing them or Buffalo Springfield

I've always thought Nick Drake is a bit overrated. Not bad at all but I guess what happened helped.
Much prefer Bill Fay.
Even if he never did anything else he should be recognised for this which i think is one of the most beautiful songs of all time.

criminally underrated band
Queens of the Stone Age are overrated - it's the superior Kyuss that are underrated
Nile.
Should be the biggest death metal band of all-time imo. To me this is the best album the genre have ever produced (disclaimer: I obviously haven't heard them all lol).
Nah mate, listen to Septic Flesh - Codex Omega, death metal with a full orchestra
Roxy Music
Talking Heads ignored older brother
Love Primus me. Not sure if their music is underrated though, I got the feeling quite many know who they are and they got a lot of views on youtube. Also gonna put Primus in the mix. Excellent musicians. Like a really weird Rush.
