Well. Just got home and listened to the interview. It was positive what he said...but he didn't say that much either.
Thought it was more of a Jim White exercise my self like.
Asked him if he loved Everton...yes

Asked him about new stadium...yes we need one, and are on with it

Asked him about transfers.........we were after x,y,z but got jibbed off for various reasons

I sort of understand if people don't feel he said enough, but he wasn't exactly asked the right questions either. It was on talk sport after all. Actions are going to speak much louder than words so I say give him the benefit of the doubt, give him a chance and let's see what he can deliver before we get the pitch forks out.

It's an interesting one to say the least. If it meant keeping hold of Barkley and Lukaku I wonder if fans would wear Goodison being renamed?

I cant think of any circumstances in which it'd be accepted.

Very good interview. He came across as a man who totally understands what he needs to move us forward (which being a successful business man he should). But he also has a very good knowledge of football and players in general. The key points for me where the debt paid, the ground move (we have done the hard part?). And the need to increase commercial revenue.

I don't think anyone is taking huge leaps of faith. I just know he is here now, things on and off the pitch are seemingly progressing and I just can't see the point in being all negative about it, at first there were crazy predictions of net spend and the like, but now the dust has settled I've consistently said I'm prepared to wait and see on this one, my faith will be lost by the close of the next summer window should significant progress in the playing staff not be made. I'm not expecting much in January as anyone worth their salt in the PL knows it's a terrible window to get top drawer players in.

Back to the huge leaps of faith bit, I'd suggest that there are more people doing whatever the opposite is to 'huge leaps of faith' than those taking said steps.

On the Martinez thing, we really don't deserve much credit it was obvious he was going to be failure. Also this fella deserves credit for binning the fraud knowing full well he'd rape us for £10m compo. The rat.

Don't have strong feelings either way on this myself,but surely believing Everton will disappoint you regardless of who is involved is less of a leap than believing this is a time to rejoice?

I agree to an extent, and I personally am of the opinion that I'll credit him for something, when something happens, starts a staidum build, buys a player without selling first

But on your points here, do you not think some sort of contingency should have been deployed during the summer window, giving we were apparently actively atempting acquisition of so many higher level players, it stood to reason not all of them would be successfully captured

That is fine to say and probably correct but then on the otherhand why be so negative towards him? (i don't think you're the worst offender for this by the way) He has said we tried to get them, spend the money that you and dave and others are looking for. Can't you empathise with the situation?

Of course if it keeps happening and 3 years later we are just being strung along then you can validly start on him, my point is it's impossible to know what happened in the summer unless you were there.

The big names we were linked with in the summer were before the club had a manager and a DOF, I'm not sure if they would have come to a club where they may not be wanted as soon as the new person takes over the reins. By the time both were installed there was not a lot of time left in the window to work on targets. I think the John Stones sale was required first before we bought but not for the reasons some do. I think we needed it to then know much increase in wages we could absorb therefore what targets we could go for. Man city were trying to get him on the cheap but we held firm, unfortunately it did delay our recruitment drive further still. When the transfer window reopens after the end of this season those excuses go and they have to do better.
