agreed, although i think he said we actually made that £60m bid as well. i wouldn't want us spending that much on a defender tbh so not overly peeved it didn't come to fruition. There are plenty of good CB's out there. £60m for a top class playmaker or striker and yes, but centre back, hmm.
Problem is, a top class Centre back is costing just as much as a top class Striker now.

GOTfans - "Moshiri is a fraud, what's he done, he hasn't even spoken to the fans about what's happening."

Moshiri - *Has Talksport interview and tells fans his plans*

GOTfans - "He's full of it, only words, we want to see actions, Boooooo!!!!"

The words damned if he does damned if he doesn't spring to mind

making such public statements - whether people think it's genuine or smoke and mirrors - is very un-Everton and that's a great. Statements like debt cleared and a new stadium on the way are exactly what we wanted to hear.

??????????????????????????????

It's been Big Billy's MO for the best part of two decades

Dave that's nothing new I have written about it for the last 9 months - we need increased revenue to meet our STCC obligations, not because of a lack of capital.

In the absence of increased revenues we will need annually to create player profits.

Hence my comments earlier about Elstone.
I said so earlier myself mate. That's why the evasive recounting of the Stones deal (whereby everyone else is responsible for the sale apart from him) was hard to buy. It's policy...HIS policy.

At base this is a commercial problem. Ok, he walked into it. But he's here now and will have been for over a year by the time next summer's transfer market is open, so bringing in new commercial partners and their cash must become a reality. But that interview emphasises that essentially the landscape in that respect is unchanged: it's still the 'facility led solution' that we've been hearing about for a decade or more. Fair enough, it WILL be an enormous boost in that respect (especially for a naming rights deal), but there has to be an interim commercial success story or the sales of our best players cant be stopped in the next 3/4 seasons.

I'm glad he's given an interview. I'm glad he's spoken positively of the club. And I'm glad he sounds like he has ambitions for the club.

But as ever, it's all about what he delivers. Actions are what really count. Albeit I am slightly more optimistic now after hearing what he's had to say.

Problem is....we've heard it all before. Kenwright has spun every yarn, so we take everything with a pinch. Hope he does what he says....
