There’s no way it gets overturned, VAR spotted it and the ref gave it. No way they throw both under the bus.

Well the decision is already baked in once they walk to the screen. I in a million for the ref to not align with VAR.
This one was so pedantic and no need for them tonget involved. My guess is VAR officials are enacting revenge for having their team members having their parts felt over the error in the Arsenal game. Lets get the rule book out and look for the most pedantic and inoculous things we can analyse to stitch Everton up.

I’m not a Michael Keane fan though I will say he’s done a bit better than I thought at the start of the season when we all realised he was going to play loads because Branthwaite was injured long term.

Regardless of not being a fan and acknowledging this guy is very capable of massive brain farts that decision last night was a disgrace, whatever the letter of the law is and is another example of people who never played the game making up nonsense laws.

Every time you jump for a ball you naturally cling on to the opposition on the way back down, normally it’s a shoulder, bit of shirt etc. and these are never given as fouls even though shirt pulling is also a foul. Keane has not pulled the guys hair with any force or caused the player any physical pain he’s just had a hold on his way back down. Nobody had a problem with this situation but some clown who can zoom in slow motion decided to ruin what could’ve been a decent final 20 mins with both teams going for a winner and tried and hand it on a plate to wolves.


Every time I watch football in other countries they have none of these issues with VAR over-analysing everything and international tournaments right back to Russia have also been fantastically refereed. What is wrong with the premier league?

This is why they don't get invited to international tournaments.

He was sent off for violent conduct in the most atrocious referring decision in a long litany of bad decisions against Everton Football Club, and is now facing a 3 match ban.

I don't think it states anywhere in the rules that the pulling of hair under any circumstances is violent conduct. It has been implicitly linked to a straight red for some time, mainly because it tends to happen in heated moments after fouls or at corners etc.

But that doesn't mean that all instances are violent?! As usual, jobsworth stuff from the refs. When will they start showing a bit of discretion and common sense? Infuriating.

On the other hand, Keane used his hair to gain an advantage in an aerial duel and he knows the risks. Was another brain lapse that gave the refs opportunity to make a decision and ultimately (probably) cost us three points. Was crap anyway, miles out of position for the goal, and will be glad to have JOB next to Tarks for the next three games.

There is also a question mark about his role in their equaliser, as on Sunday, he was marking the scorer but moved off him as the ball was played through. The video shows he is looking to his left.

He is a defender and can't defend, watch their goal developing last night, and got sent off in the most idiotic fashion

Glad he's forced out of the team for 3 games tbh.

Mainly because it forces Moyes to play O'brien at CB and someone that can attack better at RB.

In a dream scenario it forces them to act at signing a RB faster too.

I'd sooner drop Tarkowski than Keane as soon as his suspension is up. Armband to Pickford. The captain has pretty much embarrassed himself this season with his efforts, be it from unnecessarily picking fights, attempting to constantly assist the opposition with goals, or simply offering no aerial threat at offensive set pieces. He's been absolutely terrible, whereas Keane has at least balanced out bang average defending with goals.
