I have to say, on current form I'd much rather a Keane and O'Brien pairing. I think that Tarkowski has been found wanting on a few occasions this year. Keane has actually pretty much consistently been at a higher level than him this season.

Glad he's forced out of the team for 3 games tbh.

Mainly because it forces Moyes to play O'brien at CB and someone that can attack better at RB.

In a dream scenario it forces them to act at signing a RB faster too.

Moyes will appeal Keane's red card. That'll mean we edge closer to a scenario where Gueye is back to get into MF and Garner can then be played at RB and O'Brien and Tarkowski at CB for a number of games while Keane serves his suspension.

If he does appeal the red card for Keane you know that's what his thinking is. On this occasion held be right to do that as we need as many goal scorers on the pitch as we can get.

Sunderland is our biggest game of the season.

Win and we progress with some hope; lose it and our season is over.

I've said this myself on a number of occasions that only alongside O'Brien does Tarkowski play well now.

However, the issue here is fielding players who can score in a one off cup match that determines the fate of our season, and appealing that red card and keeping Keane out on the pitch as a potential goal scorer makes sense for now.

Keane is too slow to react, doesn’t have any pace and gets caught ball watching or daydreaming regularly. We have better balance with Tarks and JOB together.

I think that Keano would be a better midfielder as he has the ability to break the lines with good passing and can threaten the goal without leaving a hole in the back line.

Keane and that hair pulling: those braids must be a problem for a CB challenging players with those in.

Itls amazing to me that they're allowed. Imagine players being allowed to walk about with wrist strappings flapping away and causing a danger.

I'm sure there's some cultural reason why the PL wont go near the issue but it is a threat to player safety. I cant really blame players trying to avoid being lashed in the eyes by what must be fairly tough strands of hair being woven together.

Cuccarela did the same and I believe it's happened before. It's an issue that needs looking at as the forward with them has an edge in challenges like this. If it happened to a Liverpool player that style would be banned tomorrow.

I'd sooner drop Tarkowski than Keane as soon as his suspension is up. Armband to Pickford. The captain has pretty much embarrassed himself this season with his efforts, be it from unnecessarily picking fights, attempting to constantly assist the opposition with goals, or simply offering no aerial threat at offensive set pieces. He's been absolutely terrible, whereas Keane has at least balanced out bang average defending with goals.

Tarkowski is miles better than Keane and will form partnerships much better than Keane would.

It’s a yellow card if that imo, no intent as far as i can tel, but once the var get involved you can see how the ref has to give the red - nonsense and zero common sense but that’s the laws.

Let’s see how we do without him in the back four - either he or Tarks should have been dropped after the Brentford shambles, so at least this forces daveys hand.

There's no question, he was marking Arokadore, not the goal scorer.

Tarkowski abandons his position because no one comes to get Strand Larsen. He's nowhere near him, decides when it's too late to try and recover.

He should have stayed where he was, there was no pressure on the ball. In that scenario he needs to drop and defend.
