2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

He hasn’t got a violent bone in his body, he’s weaker than dishwater ffs.

It’s a yellow card if that imo, no intent as far as i can tel, but once the var get involved you can see how the ref has to give the red - nonsense and zero common sense but that’s the laws.

Let’s see how we do without him in the back four - either he or Tarks should have been dropped after the Brentford shambles, so at least this forces daveys hand.
Thing is whether or not you think its deliberate, whether you think its a red or not, it would never happen to any other player.

For me the case with Keane has always been that he is always going to be the guy to score an own goal, give away a pen, get sent off, lose his man for a goal, etc etc etc. For a centre back he's way too in the middle of everything always.

When O'Brien or Branthwaite play there you only really notice them when they're easing players off the ball or sweeping up balls in behind. They generally make everything look very easy, which is what you want to see from a centre back. Keane makes everything look difficult and it unsettles the whole defence, guy is a liability plain and simple.

Looking forward to seeing some calm, assured performances from O'Brien over the next 4 fixtures, and hopefully some clean sheets.

Harsh on Keane that - their goal watch how slow Tarks is Pickford had a right go at him for their goal ..... plodding back a 18 year old scored in only his 4th prem game take note DM .....

Every goal we're conceding atm is the same. Simple passes through the middle into space, so so easy. What that tells you is that our centre back pairing is definitively not working. Everytime the finger is being pointed at one player or the other, reality is they don't work as a pair. They're both slow, both have a tendency to get dragged out of position - they exacerbate each others faults.

The caveat you get with Tarkowski is that we've seen him look very good partnering Branthwaite or O'Brien, two players who maybe suit his strengths and weaknesses a bit better. Keane on the other hand, let's be honest - he's been here ages, has been paired with loads of different players who have been and gone, and he's never been able to build a solid partnership with a single one of them.

As far as I'm concerned they can both go in the summer.

No any one with pace is covering for Tarks - to give him a contract extension is plain stupid ....

As I said, we should move on from both players in summer. Branthwaite and O'Brien are a ready made pairing with mostly everything you would want from your two centre backs. Sooner they are our first choice pairing the better.
One is crocked & the other one is misused at right back - Keane looks a far better CF than what we have ATM - O'Brien should be in the middle I agree - the last game we won ....

I really wish this idea would die. Obviously he can finish in the box, but people do realise what Keane up front would mean?

Would be peak Dyche hoofball as that would be the only way you could possibly play with someone so immobile up front.

And imagine the message it would send to our strikers and the rest of our squad. Should never ever happen that. Keane simply shouldn't be playing for us at all.

Talk me through Barry's game last night - totally anonymous Keane scored one & hit the post - he knows where the goal is....

Barry was poor last night but I'm not having it that we should ever seriously be thinking about playing Michael Keane up front.

People say this because he's a good finisher without actually thinking about what that looks like for 90 mins. We would rightly be a laughing stock.
