Come on blues - cringing at some comments in here.

Clearly, there's a player in there who can defend and there was just so many mitigating factors last season - management, the inconsistency of the defence he was in and he played under medication/injuries.

Put any defender in that Everton side last season, often next to Cuco Martina, Ashley Williams and a young Kenny and they'd struggle. Later on in the season, he did start to settle/look better when Coleman and Baines come back, and we settled with Jagielka an Keane rather than Williams.

You don't become a bad player overnight.

There was a lot of mitigating circumstances for him last season;



Stick with him. He's a confidence player more than most and will only get better.

Good transformation this season is almost as big as his transformation from the quality player we got from Burnley to the abysmal performer we saw last season - Huge compliment to him! Don't think he's lost a header in weeks.

I recognise Keane was solid yesterday and in the first half, I would describe his performance as commanding. If I’m honest, I still think he’s a weak link. His upper body strength is not there. He found Murray difficult to handle in the second half and was out muscled a couple of times He definitely isn’t confident on the ball and if asked to do anything other than a simple pass, he puts his arms outstretched in front of him as if to say “come on, help me out”.

Presently, because his confidence is improved from his annus horriblus last season, he’s doing well. His big test is next Sunday against sheer pace and tight skills that Chelsea posses.

I still say that Silva’s preferred central partnership is Zouma and Mina.

He’s back to being the centre back we got from Burnley.

Personally I think he’s got just as much to his game as Maguire - and he’s valued at £50m+
