2018/19 Michael Keane

Ashley Williams eraticness caused him to have to play out of position which made him look bad as he was covering for Williams leaving his own position exposed. His lack of out and out pace is a slight concern but if Mina proves as reliable as Zouma has so far then it bodes well. Also Holgate played well alongside Keane in the early games so maybe Keane is the sure thing and the others need to compete to partner him.

Passing was great today and he won the majority of battles with Murray.

Starting to look like a footballing centre half as well as very solid defensively. What a transformation from last season!

Made up for him, though my dad still hates him. Will say though, his defensive partners this season (Holgate, Mina and Keane) are a hell of a step up from Williams and Jags of last year, plus the injury business - you'd expect to see this step up. Now I want to see him take it a bit further, break into the England squad etc. I'd love to see him and Mina make it difficult for Zouma to get back in the squad now after Chelsea because of the way they perform (as harsh as that would be on Zouma) - There's definitely more to come from Keane, I think with a bit more experience of different types of football (International, Europa next year hopefully?) he can turn into a fantastic asset for years.

Good performance in front of Southgate. He totally deserves a call up, so it will come hopefully and will be another boost for his confidence.

Fair play to him.
