Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Yesterday was 34°C. Here's a small world story for you. When he first emigrated 20 years ago my brother made friends with a bloke from Widnes who had also recently emigrated. The two couples have been friends ever since. The friend's older sister was already living in Australia......she was in my class at school! Yesterday afternoon they came over for a barbecue so I met up with a classmate I haven't seen for 50 years. So much fun reminiscing.
Wow how good was that! I would say it’s a small world too but as @Barnfred 55 told me once it is a very large world, you just happened to be in the same place.😂

Hi all. Today has been amazing. We were supposed to be exploring Perth but only ended up in two places. The first was the museum which had an exhibition of The Terracotta Army. Absolutely stunning to see the figures in real life. The second thing was a guided tour of the WACA. Most of you know I love cricket so this was also brilliant.
Tomorrow we are going on a ferry to a place called Rotnest Island to see some quokkas - very cute little marsupials.

The stillness of that picture really appeals to me. Plenty of time for your thoughts with a peaceful view like that.
Nothing but the odd car passes ,oh one woman does her walk past every morning .This is not a place if you aren't happy in your own company ,the house in the distance is now owned by a Russian we hear ,he is head groundsman for the golf course that we are next to .It was the snow I was showing to cool her down at 35° .

Oh I got the reason for the photo as being the snow. Now you brought it up, I think I have only ever met one Russian. Something else for me to ponder now 😀

I had to think hard but then realised we were overrun with them in Egypt ,I don't remember meeting any here -yet . They used to drink the red sea water when showering ,something I found hard to get to grips with as all the rest had bad stomachs with the bottled stuff !

Morning all,
After a brief appearance by the sun yesterday it’s back to dull and cloudy today. Another trip to the charity shop beckons as our de-cluttering continues. I can’t say the experience hasn’t been without pain. I’m having trouble letting go, some items have just been packed without me seeing them otherwise the urge to put them back will be too strong. On a more cheerful note here’s a reminder that Spring is on the way, for those of us still stuck in the cold and damp that is,😁. Saw these in a churchyard whilst walking the dachshund yesterday. Have a good day, all.💙

Love the snowdrops, ours are now out in the garden. For the past four years I’ve been training for a Spring marathon, unable to do that this year because of my continuing back problems. About 4 miles into my long run route I entered “ snow drop alley “ , a 3 mile stretch with regular but intermittent clumps of snowdrops, it always made me smile 😊
