Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening each, just booked a holiday in Perth, the one in Scotland not Australia, The last time we attempted a holiday there, we had to cancel as I had terrible morning sickness and couldn’t travel. No chance of that this time unless I make medical history.🤣
You will love it. It's a few years since we were in that part of Scotland. Scone Palace is worth a look.

Perth is an excellent place to use as a base , you can go north quite easily up the A9 , taking in Pitlochry , Blair Atholl or branching off the A9 westwards to Aberfeldy and a stunning circular trip around Loch Tay , Crieff and back to Perth . You need to be comfortable driving highland road roads though. It has nice river walks too, our only disappointment was seeing Ricky Ross [exDeacon Blue] doing a one man talking show in the theatre, he was full of himself, explains why theatre was 1/4 full. Enjoy!

Evening everyone, and big happy birthday to @anjelikaferrett. Take it easy @jazzy and make the most of your enforced rest.
Re my battery @blue1948 , it’s just because I hardly use it sadly. The discussion is ongoing whether I keep it or do we go down to one car. Anyway today I drove round Lancashire, up and down the M6 and M58 and the east Lancs Road aimlessly for 60 miles which was my brief to achieve. Will do similar tomorrow but hopefully the weather might be a bit more forgiving and I can make a day out of it. If it persists I’ll get it checked out. Why do people drive like loons in this weather?
On a different note I watched the film Nuremberg over the weekend and was glued from start to finish. Really enjoyed it and a message for today in there as well. I thought that Russel Crowe was brilliant as Goering.
Have a great evening all, I won’t be watching the r/s as it’s quiz night on tv.

Yes I thought Nuremberg was an excellent film. Crowe was tremendous in it but I couldn't shake the thought of Freddie Mercury interviewing him.

I struggle to say I enjoyed it because of the subject matter but it's an important film that should be seen and understood by as many people as possible.

Perhaps Shay Given could learn something

Yes perhaps enjoy wasn’t the best word and I also couldn’t get the Freddie Mercury thing out of my mind too. I wonder if the relationship between the doc and Goering was really like that - the dynamic was fascinating.

Thank you. We’re travelling by train (there’s a direct service from P’boro) as I don’t drive and too far for Mr G to do it on his own, so we’re stuck with public transport, but we’re hoping to get the train to Inverness while we’re up there and also a sightseeing bus trip too.

Evening everyone, can’t say anything about yesterday and I’m feeling quite emotionless about Everton today- I think I’ve just been worn down.
I’ve had a lazy day today so not much to report except my car battery warning light has come on so I’m under instruction to take it for a long run tomorrow.
Our car battery light keeps coming in intermittently as it’s mainly used for short journeys. We have an AA smart trickle battery charger, you don’t have to remove your battery or disconnect the terminals. This keeps the battery topped up or so the man who drives the car tells me.🤣

You are too modest . We all know the truth .

Good morning all on this dark one yet .I hope all are well and had a good night . A belated Happy Birthday to @anjelikaferrett ,the post is slow here and the time difference etc.
I am really trying not to think of the first team as I have developed a nervous tick when posting ,not good .I am also staying away from newsnow as that is a load of codswallop.
Have a great day all COYB

There’s a few stops on the line, like Pitlochry and Blair Atholl that you might like , and the station in Inverness is right in the heart of the City , a 10 min walk from the river, castle etc. My cousin in Liverpool phoned me on Sunday and said he and his brother were coming to visit us in March , going by train from Lime Street. I suggested the Inverness route was best as you get spectacular views of the highlands between Perth and Inverness , so you’ll enjoy that trip .
