Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

When I was a little girl, a pet shop owner in Wigan had a puma and used to walk it near where I lived as if it was a dog. When I told my son about this he laughed at me and absolutely didn’t believe it. Thanks to the power of social media I was able to prove it really happened. Can you imagine this these days
Have you ever watched the documentary about Christian the lion? In the swinging 60s two blokes bought a lion cub in Harrods and raised it in their London flat. They took him to parties and all sorts. Eventually they took him back to Africa and he was rehabilitated into the wild. A year later they went to visit

Just imagine that taking a run at you 😀

No I’ve never seen that but I will definitely check it out. Born Free was one of my favourite films when I was little

I know it was scary and we had a mad border collie at the time with zero social skills- as soon as I saw it I used to drag him off in the other direction. It was always a challenge walking him back then as most people used to just throw their dogs out and let them roam the streets. His enemy was an equally mad mongrel called Duke who used to think he ruled the streets. Fun times 😂

You don’t master those types of snake though if they must be securely contained at all times. Nor would you be handling them either. I can only assume it’s the thrill of telling people that you own a deadly viper. The article referenced 2 Green Mambas that someone had been keeping in a terraced house until they realised they weren’t equipped to do so. The reptile expert posed the question of what would have happened had they escaped through the attic space and potentially popped up in a house down the row 😱

*this is not what I needed to read on the day I was putting my Christmas decorations back into the attic.
They take the venom out of the poisonous ones I heard .

We had a dog like that in my childhood. Really friendly to us but for any other doggies then it was open warfare. We always thought he was terrified of another dog getting his place in our house. He was a rescue dog I should add.

If you haven't been in "cold " water you don't understand that feeling ,it is like a drug hit I have been told and I can believe that as it releases natural cortisone and andrenaline .Well done that man .
Absolutely. Key is not to stay in too long . A minute per degree is a good barometer. But its hard getting in, good inside and brilliant feeling after.

Surely you have tried it AT ,if not put it on your bucket list for the New Year - but not all in one go ,you have to acclimatise -so well worth the wait and effort .Not the being in but the "thank god I am alive " feeling afterwards.
Have indeed tried it but not often. Camlough Lake and Oxford Island on St Stephen’s Day for charity football sort of thing years ago. All very well supervised and life guards around etc.

I have ventured into the sea in February in Termonfeckin but not for a long time. I admit to being nervous of the dark water and waves that time of year and of course the cold stunning you. It’s a lot harder when you don’t have the bravado of your mates around you! Our buddy @blue to the bone is a hardy soul venturing into the Atlantic on the rough coastline side of our country 😀. Respect Mo Chara.

Years ago a neighbour of ours, let’s say, led an alternative lifestyle which included a boyfriend who had a pet leopard. He used to walk down our road with it on a chain. No one believes us when we tell them about it. Unfortunately no mobile phones about for a sneaky photo in those days. 😂
