Hello all. I saw the posts yesterday about Karl and thought a lot about his quiet dignity and sense of humour. He is missed.
We've had a fun day today - we had Frankie for a sleepover- his Mum picked up a shift as the night porter - which was the original job she had at the hotel. She picked him up once she got up in the afternoon. As we haven't done any shopping- waiting to do the BIG shop on Friday and supplies are running down- Mr F and I went out for tea. We're following that up with the monthly quiz at the club. I'm wearing my Christmas jumper which has some lovely reindeer pulling a sled and the message 'Sleigh The Patriarchy' It makes me laugh anyway!

Morning all, weather is a dull and grey with rain forecast for later - again. Hannah just called in on her way to school and said if I am looking for ideas for a late Christmas present she would like new eyelash curlers as hers had just broken also an eyelash comb would be good too. She’s twelve. No idea where she gets it from certainly not me - hardly ever wore make up when I was younger and haven’t worn any in years. I CBA putting it all on and then taking it all off again, what can I say I’m a scruffy oik.

Having met you I can say you are definitely not a scruffy oik! Working from home killed my make up vibe. I used to wear it every day for the office but since then it has to be a very special occasion for me to break out the slap, and I feel like I'm covering my face in lard! Also - there is such a thing as an eyelash comb?! Who knew?

Good morning all, Ive been swimming , now about to p8ck Charlotte up for a trip to Costco and this afternoon we are going to see the pantomime in Durham. Our friend's daughter is in it, she plays Jack's mother (pantomime is Jack and The Beanstalk). She's desperately trying to make her way as an actress - not easy. She had a very small part in an episode of Vera which is a career highlight so far.
We came second in the quiz last night - lost by one point to the team that always wins.
Anf finally, the excitement is building for my trip to the match on Saturday! Can't wait

We have had a great day lots of laughing ,no presents as we don't need anything is our attitude ,the missus thanks you deeply . She is resting after helping me demolish a box of choclates -they were voted the best in our local paper so we had to see if they are indeed the best ,just scientific reasearch you understand !

Hello everybody. The pantomime was absolutely bonkers. We loved it and Frankie was mesmerised in the first half by the music and the lights. All that excitement must have worn him out because he slept through the second half!
I'm glad Mrs @blue1948 had a good birthday.
In other news I've got tickets for the FA Cup match against Sunderland. I was pleasantly surprised that they were only £20. However age 65+ can get them for £15. The match is on 10 Jan. My 65th birthday is on 12th Jan. I'm feeling slightly hard done by.

Good morning all on this wet one .I hope all had a good restful night's sleep and have a great day today . I was supposed to trim branches from a willow that dangles too low when I clear the snow but it is too wet -the wife says . We had a cheese findue last night at the wife's request ,I don't know if I have mentioned this but I like to play music when we eat at the dining room table to match the food ,so it was Austrian oompah music last night -yes I know the fondue is a Swiss thing but who knows any Swiss music ?
