Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, misty and murky out this morning. A early start for everyone round here as some idiot decided to let fireworks off at 5.55. I was awake but still… Thanks for that.
Safe travels to those going to the game later, especially @Armaghtoffee and @anjelikaferrett, not jealous at all.🤣, but I’ve had my turn and couldn’t have been better, great memories (actually I’m still buzzing a bit) so I’m happy with that. Will miss the game later as we are off to a surprise 50th birthday party.
Have a good day, all. 💙

Enjoy your party 🥳

Bramley Moore Dock here I come! It’s going to be a long but hopefully very enjoyable day. UTFT.
Wow!
Setting off at 5-45 AM is REAL commitment. 👏
I'll probably leave at about 5-45 PM to get there early.
I never cease to be amazed by just how committed our fan base is and the sacrifices made by those who don't live local. The travel, the expense and the planning required for you to give your support is just mind boggling.
We are also in the family stand today, so I will be keeping a look out for your orange bobble hat and will be sure to come across and shake your hand if I see you.
So don't be too shocked if you are accosted by a grey haired, bearded old codger.

Good morning all. Currently at Durham Station waiting for the train to Lime Street. Im bit nervous because we are travelling on the Transpennine Express - two words that should never be in the same sentence. We are meeting my brother for lunch - he has suggested Bon(?) on Great Charlotte Street - and all you can eat Asian buffet. Sounds awesome!
I really hope we win. Much as I want Arsenal to win the league they can spare 3 points today!

Why do you know one ? all supporters who attend have my best wishes for the effort and expense they expend but most of all the ones who attend from afar .COYB

The Denbigh Castle is absolutely rammed already. Got in for one pint to enjoy the atmosphere. I know it sounds silly but everytime I come to Liverpool I still get such a buzz out of so many fellow Toffees. It isn’t easy being an Irish Toffee at times amongst the Red hoards 😀
I think it’s brilliant seeing so many Everton shirts and being amongst them. They are a rarity around these parts.

I thought the 1878s and the club did us proud before kick off with a very atmospheric start to the game. To be honest, I know we didn’t play well (who thought we would with so many absences?) but apart from one inexplicable action by O Brien we would have held the league leaders to a goalless draw. The next few games will hopefully be winnable, but this is Everton so let’s see.
On another note it was really great to meet @anjelikaferrett and her lovely husband for a drink and a chat after speaking on GOT for 5 years. Such a great couple 💙.

What a fun day yesterday was. We didn't play particularly well but we weren't awful. I didn't think Arsenal were that good either. Let's be honest - we got beat due to a moment of madness by O'Brien.
What a ground though! Magnificent on every level. I have to tell you about the two lads sat next to us. Absolutely hammered and had managed to sneak their pints past the stewards and into the stand. About half an hour in, the one next to me said 'I'm so sorry I keep leaning on you. I'm just excited.' A new friend was made🤣. I asked how they got their beer in 'under me coat. It's all a matter of confidence....and how blind the stewards are' Pause ' Would you like some? I'll share'. I declined politely.
Finally it was brilliant to meet @Val P , her hubby and son. A really lovely family.
Can't wait for the FA Cup now!

Was hoping to be 'singing the blues' last night. Well that didn''t work out did it?
Still had a grat day though.
Missed @Armaghtoffee and his orange bobble hat 🤷‍♂️ but that might be explained by the photo you posted above A.T. We were at the opposite end of the family stand,in line with the edge of the penalty area.
Fantastic work by the 1878s 👏👏 Shame about the result :(
