Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, today marks the fourth anniversary of our friend Karl’s ( Messymascot) passing. I’m not that great with words and I’ve said this before so forgive me repeating myself. He would be so proud of this thread which is a fitting tribute to him and ensures his memory lives on. Sleep well, Karl.💙
Oh wow. It’s got that funny quality that all events seem to have as you get older, in simultaneously feeling like 5 mins and a lifetime ago.

Never interacted with the dude much directly, but was always blown away by his bravery and positive outlook. A better man than me, that’s for sure.

Hope you’re resting easy up there, brother.

Hello all. I saw the posts yesterday about Karl and thought a lot about his quiet dignity and sense of humour. He is missed.
We've had a fun day today - we had Frankie for a sleepover- his Mum picked up a shift as the night porter - which was the original job she had at the hotel. She picked him up once she got up in the afternoon. As we haven't done any shopping- waiting to do the BIG shop on Friday and supplies are running down- Mr F and I went out for tea. We're following that up with the monthly quiz at the club. I'm wearing my Christmas jumper which has some lovely reindeer pulling a sled and the message 'Sleigh The Patriarchy' It makes me laugh anyway!
Have a good night folks x

That description of Karl has struck a real chord with me. Perfect way to describe the character we met in what was to become very difficult circumstances.

Enjoy your quiz, love the jumper, ever the Union Rep 😉

Loving the Christmas jumper, in Solidarity Sister! Good luck with the quiz.

Sat in Stockholm airport after a weekend break, great visit and loads to see and do, v v expensive....
First place I've ever been to where I have not seen any currency whatsoever, not used by us, or anybody else. Shops advertised they don't accept cash. Remarkable.
As I'm sat here reflecting with a lager ( 13 euro ), a robot has come along and delivered food to the table next to us.
The world is moving at a pace !.
It was the same in Copenhagen- didn’t use anything but card and it made it very easy. Brilliant metro system also where you downloaded an app and “swiped “ on and off the train and it calculated your fare and took it out of your account. I imagine it would be a good place to live.

He sounded like a great guy, I’m sorry I never knew him. This thread is definitely a fitting tribute.
