I collected Panini 1970 World Cup stickers, think there were 5 in a packet you got an album to stick them in. Son used to collect them for World Cups too. Started to buy them for grandkids but they got too expensive plus you always ended up with about 10 of one particular player and there was always one you could never get hold of.To be honest, I had no idea who made them. They were just footie cards that came in packs with bubble gum. You'd get about 4 or 5 cards in each pack and each year there would be maybe 50 or so in a complete set. You could buy a wall chart to stick them on. All I remember is that all my mates spent every penny of our pocket money on them and the whole area around us was littered with sticky pink bubble gum on the pavements. I'm sure the adults used to do their nut when we walked sticky chewing gum all over the carpets.lol
Just done a quick google search now and companies called Topps and A&BC made them. Never heard of them tbh, but one of the brand names I remember looking at the images was "shoot". I'm sure people of my generation must remember them. Everybody was walking around chewing this sweet sickly pink bubble gum in those days. lol
