Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

To be honest, I had no idea who made them. They were just footie cards that came in packs with bubble gum. You'd get about 4 or 5 cards in each pack and each year there would be maybe 50 or so in a complete set. You could buy a wall chart to stick them on. All I remember is that all my mates spent every penny of our pocket money on them and the whole area around us was littered with sticky pink bubble gum on the pavements. I'm sure the adults used to do their nut when we walked sticky chewing gum all over the carpets.lol

Just done a quick google search now and companies called Topps and A&BC made them. Never heard of them tbh, but one of the brand names I remember looking at the images was "shoot". I'm sure people of my generation must remember them. Everybody was walking around chewing this sweet sickly pink bubble gum in those days. lol
I collected Panini 1970 World Cup stickers, think there were 5 in a packet you got an album to stick them in. Son used to collect them for World Cups too. Started to buy them for grandkids but they got too expensive plus you always ended up with about 10 of one particular player and there was always one you could never get hold of.

See I don't remember Panini as a brand name but I may have bought them without realising. Did they have bubble gum in the packets?

Happy Birthday T.

I know what you mean. I rarely ever got more than 2 birthday cards, both from the same 2 sisters. Enjoy the day with your sister, and Daisy of course. Focus on the positives rather than the negatives. It works for me, most of the time anyway. ;)
You are doing really well Fred ,much to be admired albeit with a little jealousy when you went to Guernsey.

I'll be watching Royal Ascot. Had a good day yesterday and replenished my Skybet account a bit. Was down to 5p after my bets yesterday. lol
I have all the UK channels so we tried the ascot on ITV as the missus used to ride dressage and she loved it so will be watching again soon as we sauna .The only thing she missed was the smell of horse .....do.
