I have a friend here and we both have a bit of ginger in us ,mine was my beard when I had one ,he has a terrible time with skin cancer and I have treatment for the skin on my head that my doctor says is what they think might be the precursor to skin cancer ,he blasts the "spots" with liquid nitrogen and I need to see him twice per year .40 years working outside without a hat or a care ,what a fool !

They don’t take any chances with skin at all and as you say they will blast away anything suspicious. I think the message re sun safety is getting better but people can always do more to protect themselves.

It’s funny how you think something isn’t really worrying you much but once told you are fine you feel enormous relief.

Small bit of good news to share Mascoteers. After 18 months of monitoring I was discharged from the Dermatology Clinic today. Due to my Celtic skin I am very prone to sun damage and skin cancer runs in my direct family.

One blemish in particular was being closely checked over the months but the consultant today again confirmed nothing to worry about and just keep up the sun protection.

That was first thing this morning and since then I have walked over 11 miles with a real spring in my step lol

That’s not a small bit of good news that’s an absolutely massive bit of good news. Great to hear it.?

Morning all, going to be a very warm day today. Not much planned except probably complaining about the heat, I don’t cope too well with hot weather, I prefer it cooler must be my Viking blood lol. My DNA test came back 11%Scandinavian. Sorry to hear you won’t be getting your flooring as planned @Terrarian, would have thought they, at least, could have done it free as compensation. It was just too warm to sleep last night and I’m glad to get out of bed and walking in the cooler air.

Been mad busy lately so not been on for a while. The neighbours wife was away for a couple of days visiting a sick relative so we've been spending a bit more time together. Went out for a drive and a nice meal on Monday (the bouillabaisse was indeed delicious Anj). It was a bit overcast but the sun came out in the afternoon so enjoyed the trip back in his open top Jag, and then sat out with a glass or 2 of rose reading my book when I got back. Tuesday I had him around for a BBQ and sat out until 10pm drinking cognac (yes, I am bad influence on him). Yesterday I was nursing a bad hangover so alternated my time between sunbathing and watching Royal Ascot. Switched the barbie on again last night to cook my Angus rib-eye steak who's use by date had just expired, but I'm happy to report I'm still alive this morning. Today it's a toss up between cleaning the windows or going to the beach, then I'm having another BBQ tonight just for me. Unfortunately, when I came to defrost meat for tuesday's barbie, it had stuck together so I had to defrost all the chicken legs and all the pork chops. So I'll need to have what's left tonight otherwise they'll go off. Luckily the weather is still nice and I like BBQ food. Which is just as well as tomorrow night I'm going to another barbie at the neighbours. lol

What have you planned this weekend Fred?

See post above. If I do the windows today i'll probably go to the beach tomorrow as that's the warmest day according to the forecast. ,Saturday and Sunday looks like rain so will probably do a bit of housework before my trip up to Scotland and Liverpool. Luckily it's forecast for more good weather from Monday as that's my anniversary and the plan is that we travel upto St Ives. We'll probably be going pretty close to your son's village.
