Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Been mad busy lately so not been on for a while. The neighbours wife was away for a couple of days visiting a sick relative so we've been spending a bit more time together. Went out for a drive and a nice meal on Monday (the bouillabaisse was indeed delicious Anj). It was a bit overcast but the sun came out in the afternoon so enjoyed the trip back in his open top Jag, and then sat out with a glass or 2 of rose reading my book when I got back. Tuesday I had him around for a BBQ and sat out until 10pm drinking cognac (yes, I am bad influence on him). Yesterday I was nursing a bad hangover so alternated my time between sunbathing and watching Royal Ascot. Switched the barbie on again last night to cook my Angus rib-eye steak who's use by date had just expired, but I'm happy to report I'm still alive this morning. Today it's a toss up between cleaning the windows or going to the beach, then I'm having another BBQ tonight just for me. Unfortunately, when I came to defrost meat for tuesday's barbie, it had stuck together so I had to defrost all the chicken legs and all the pork chops. So I'll need to have what's left tonight otherwise they'll go off. Luckily the weather is still nice and I like BBQ food. Which is just as well as tomorrow night I'm going to another barbie at the neighbours. lol

Have a good day all.
BBQ food, open top drives and late night al fresco imbibing.

You have a good thing going on here my man.

Hey gang ,

Hope you are all doing well.

@Gwladysover lovely photos

@Barnfred 55 sounds like a busy old week there in sleepy Cornwall

@Armaghtoffee wonderful news , just wonderful

@Terrarian stick with it , looks like the refurbishment is gathering pace.

Well it's pretty hot here. Been to the gym and done some gardening but going to sit out this pm as too hot to do too much more.

My Fathers Day present just arrived - a case of wine - those pups are so generous with their pocket money.

Stay safe in the sun everyone.

Just pricing accommodation in Liverpool for 20th August. Wow! Talk about hotels determined to make their money back after a hard couple of years.
Saturday night peak summer mate.

If you're just looking for somewhere to doss, the Travelodge in Aigburth is £115 for the room. I stayed there last time i was up. It was basic but clean and the bed was OK and it's only about 4 miles from town with excellent bus and train services . In a couple of weeks I'm staying at the Travelodge at the airport which is even cheaper at £90 for the room. Not stayed there before but it's an old Holiday Inn with a proper restaurant so the facilities should be better than your standard Travelodge. Fair bit from town but good bus services and of course it's dead handy for the airport. I assume you're flying in. Next door is a garden centre that does good breakfasts too.

Cheapest family room in and around the city centre is £200+.

Flights were decent though but complete disaster if the game moves for TV.

Can't see it AT . Everton V Forest really isn't that much of a pull.

Early season the TV usually put on top games to tempt you into a subscription.

Should be a really good game though.
That’s my logic as well jazzy.

The August televised fixtures aren’t confirmed until 5th July and by then the flight/hotel prices would be even worse. You really have to gamble when even a home game is an away one for you.

There are no flights home on Saturday night either which does force your hand even more.

Good evening all. What a gorgeous day it has been. Had a spontaneous lunch out with some work chums. We went to an Italian in Sedgefield which was lovely but lunch lasted two and a half hours. I'm going to have to put in a long shift tomorrow to get some time back. No news on the neighbour. I went round today to see her but there was no answer, I strongly suspect she is staying with her friends.

I've been to the gym tonight. It was so hot. We are doing a double session on Saturday- Sweaty Saturday at 7.30am followed by am hour with the PT. Oh joy, can't wait! This is all to fit in with the daughter's social life.

@Barnfred 55 Glad you had a good time. @Armaghtoffee hotels in Liverpool on a Saturday night are an absolute rip off. Fred is right, try the Travelodge by the Airport. The Hampton by Hilton, also at the airport isn't too bad either. @CahillsCornerFlag How are you feeling today. Any improvement?

Have a good night folks x

Morning toute le monde,

Wow its going to be hot today. Rosie doesn't seem to care and still wants her cuddles.

Big week for her next week as she's being neutered , she won't like that and particularly won't like not being able to run around and play for a couple of weeks.

So housework day today and then a relax in.the sun and shade before a top up on fluids down the pub.

Off to the North West Audio show tomorrow so that should be fun. Mrs J holding the Fort.

Don't get too hot today friends.
