Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Our cat thinks he is human as he behaves just like a dog following us around ,he too doesn't take anything ,we had a field mouse in the house for two days and thought there was something wrong because he was just lying on the floor staring .We didn't know it was behind the fireplace in a small crack . Ever since he stops at lots of places staring and we think they were refuges the mouse found on his holidays !
Ours is a serial killer of small rodents but shows no interest in anything with feathers! We are surrounded by farm land at the back of us so plenty of mice and voles to be had. It's gross though. She brings her kills home, drops them right in front of our patio doors and then eats them. I have to draw the curtains! You would think we never fed her.

Small bit of good news to share Mascoteers. After 18 months of monitoring I was discharged from the Dermatology Clinic today. Due to my Celtic skin I am very prone to sun damage and skin cancer runs in my direct family.

One blemish in particular was being closely checked over the months but the consultant today again confirmed nothing to worry about and just keep up the sun protection.

That was first thing this morning and since then I have walked over 11 miles with a real spring in my step lol

great news. bet you feel a real weight lifted.

Ginger requiring a safe haven after last night. Managed to avoid COVID for the last 2.5 years, but yesterday it finally got me. One of the worst nights kip (if you can even call it that) I’ve ever had, mild symptoms all day yesterday but as of midnight headache, sore throat, blocked nose, and vacillating between fever and chills constantly. Got about 3 hours in all.

Tell me your covid success stories friends and about how you rapidly improved.
Sorry to hear about your Covid infection but you came to the right thread to get some encouragement. Like you, our family had avoided Covid until last month that we attended a wedding and got it there. My husband who is vaccinated and boosted got it really bad, felt like a flu, lots of body aches, cloudy head, fever, tight chest and mild congestion, he was in bed for a week but after 7 days he began feeling better although even after weeks he doesn’t feel
100%. I also got it and while I had some of his same symptoms mine were more mild and I was only in bed for a couple of days. Hopefully it will be the same for you. Best wishes on your recovery and let us know how everything is going for you.

Oh bless you. I got it last August. It was horrible. All I could think of was if this is what it's like after being double jabbed I'd hate to have got it before. All symptoms you described plus 'digestive issues'. Take it easy, drink lots of water. Hope you feel better soon.
I forgotten about that too, my husband was dealing also with lots of digestive issues when he got Covid.

So happy for you, AT. This is excellent news so you don’t have to continue carrying that worry on your shoulders.

Good morning folks. Lovely day here. I'm going to cut the grass later after a quick trip to the shops. I need to get a Father's Day card and a gift voucher. Trying to plan my next visit to Liverpool which is a bit tricky because one of his dialysis sessions is on Saturdays. Although the dialysis itself takes 4 hours by the time he's been picked up and brought home he can be gone from 12 - 7. Dad likes to go to bed early (about 8pm) so Saturday would be a write off as far as visiting goes.

Hope everyone is OK. @Terrarian did you get the rest of the things that weren't delivered? @fandjango I love the idea of going swimming in the sea at 6am. Brilliant way to start your day.
I'm not getting the floor done in the hallway until the 28th now, kitchen got done at least, thought they might have offered me the rest of the installation free, tight gets lol

Good morning everyone hope you're all well.

I have a friend here and we both have a bit of ginger in us ,mine was my beard when I had one ,he has a terrible time with skin cancer and I have treatment for the skin on my head that my doctor says is what they think might be the precursor to skin cancer ,he blasts the "spots" with liquid nitrogen and I need to see him twice per year .40 years working outside without a hat or a care ,what a fool !
