Scouse birds - there are definitely common traits! ? ?I'm sorry Anj. I know you are being serious but I just had to smile when I read that. You remind me so much of Cal when you're angry. I was thinking the same when I read your post about Klopp in the Bomb shelter thread.![]()
Oh Joey I'm so sorry to hear this. How upsetting and sad for you and your family. I hope you find a good nursing home for your mum in law. I would say, as others have, go and visit, have a good look round and read the latest CQC inspection report. They are readily available on the internet and are a good source of information. Ask about staffing levels - especially on night shifts which can be woefully understaffed. My mother in law after going into hospital for slight heart trouble in A&E - the NHS probably stretched somehow managed to break he hip & wrist - 6 months ago - had the hip dynamic hip replacement - it's not worked - we have been told she has 12 months to live bed bound - yet they are insisting she goes into a nursing home ?
They can't find one to accommodate her needs as she has now lost her faculties ....
It's upset my family - i just feel so sorry for her plus my wife who has the power of attorney in Health & Finance plus we are in the process of taking it to the ombudsman ... very stressful times ......
Not helped by her brother who bid 100 grand for her house which is worth £280,000 - thats why the power of attorney for the sensible person in the family is a necessity in many ways ....
Small world. lolKnow it well. Wife's from Peterborough. Met when I lived there.

Congrats! Ive recently managed to be able to do a few unassisted pull ups recently myself which was one of my main goals. Smaller milestones which show how far you've come are an amazing motivator!Good evening folks. This morning was every bit as tiresome as I expected. My corporate b*llsh*t bingo card was full within half an hour. Transformation, strategic refresh, corporate plan, what the future looks like etc etc. It was all words with very little substance. They have a plan but want us to co-create it. Translation: when it goes tits up we can say 'but you told us this is what you wanted'. Not that I'm cynical or anything.....
What was nice was seeing a lot of people who I haven't seen for ages ( March 2020) including my favourite ex copper turned Civil servant who although he has lived in the north east for 35 years still has a broad Cockney accent "Alright gel" he said and gave me a massive hug. When I first met him he introduced himself as "Elf" It took me ages to realise his name was Alf and it was the accent lol . Mad Arsenal fan and all around good guy. The other positive was that working from home is the future. We ae not going back to the office. Also went out for lunch with some of my team mates to an Italian in Darlington. That was good. So I guess the social interactions were fun but the rest was a total waste of time and money.
I've been to the gym. New PB - I weightlifted 35kg over my head. It's pretty rubbish in the grand scheme of things but I'm proud of it. I knew watching The Rock on YouTube would give me some training tips!
Love these.Sure is. View attachment 169199View attachment 169200Same railway (near the golf course) taken at the gate of PYC ( father in law built the boat himself)
