Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello all. Hope you have had a very lovely Bank Holiday. Our get together with our friends went really well. Weather was lovely. We had enough food to feed a small army and ended up with more alcohol than we started with( I have drank copious amounts of wine). After our friends all went home it just so happened that our neighbours were in their garden so they joined us to drink more been and wine. Interesting couple, have spent the last few years doing voluntary work in Sierra Leone but came home last year because she had breast cancer and needed treatment. Fortunately all clear now. I think I need to go to bed.. Now. was at the gym at 8am and same again tomorrow - won't be good with a hangover!

Some pics from this mornings walk up the farm, the animals weren't interested in Daisy today but she had a paddle and a little play so she's happy. Just a bit miffed as normally we'd do a few more miles but I'm too sore it's crap.
You are a lucky fella, mate. :)

Hi guys, I didn't even realise it was a bank holiday, my routine stays the same so makes no difference. It lashed it down all day but cleared up at tea time so there was a street party on our walk route, Daisy tried to get at the food obviously, I'm glad everyone loves her lol greedy little bugger. It's sunny so far today.

Did my shopping and I was trying to keep it down this month as I was going to try and eat some stuff that's been in the freezer a while. I've barely bought any food, just Daisy's stuff some cleaning products and a few pizzas, a few treats and spent £100 I can't seem to get it any lower, costs a tenner just for coffee for a month.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, whatever you are doing.

I have a good mate going for a day trip to Helsinki tomorrow (from Tallinn). Any recommendations for him?
Not really although it is a fine city it is quite small so quite easy to see most of it .There is a tram the 3t or 3b I think that does a circular route past most things including the Olympic stadium ,nice to do there also used to be a pub tram doing a special sight seeing route but I am not sure if it is running again yet . The booze is expensive so tell him to take some of the boat . There is a theme ride park but it is not so nice weather today yet . There are ferries that take you out into the archipelago that run from the market place which is a good place to start,as you get the tram there as well and he will arrive not far away , the cabs are silly money .

Good morning all on this overcast day here in Hyvinkää .No bunting here I am afraid .I hope all have had a good night and an even better day @Terrarian my old mum used to give us a liquid "coffee ",I cannot recall them at present but that might be cheaper ,Finns drink more coffee per head than anywhere else .
Advertised a mower that we inherited when we moved and someone is calling around at ten ,of course the ruddy thing won't start ,so first job for the day is fresh petrol and check the plug or I have to turn them around .
COYB.

I presume vintage SAABs and Volvos are reasonably accessible? I would love one of these:

Love that site - one could even buy a hospital !!! Not many classics but I really like this Merc 450 SLC from 1975. Going to make a high price it seems - €7250 with 5 days 10 hours to go!! I take it "Museum vehicle" is the Finnish phrase for Classic Car!! This is a beauty with the great 4.5 l engine

This is on sale from a Classic car specialist in Dublin - he is expensive, but has an excellent reputation and record. 1981 280 SLC €17K

My 1989 Merc 300 SE is at the car doctor's as she needs a new Differential Unit :(
