Martinez - Thoughts So Far?

Looking at all that Tubey, then if the cap fits RM should wear it, it is his responsibilty that is what he is paid for.

It's a transitional period so it's going to take time for players to stop hesitating and just play naturally. Lost count of the amount of times Pienaar and Mirallas took the extra touch instead of instinctively keeping the move going, same with Barkley. Osman just looks utterly clueless in and off possession.

The problem is that the defence isn't being shifted around quick enough so the defence can deal with a lone striker with ridiculous ease. That's why I can't blame Jelavic today; he was marked out of the game so, so easily.

I'm surprised some of our fans still believe in Jelavic, yeah he got a boss song. I'm just worried that Martinez doesn't see he a waste of space.

I would sell Jelavic for anything over £4M

TO WHO????????????????????????????????

Loving the fact people put a price tag on a striker who cant score a goal..

Sell him? id release him on a free if it was down to me, buy out his contract and let him save the training grounds oxygen.

Going to wait until after the window to really have a clearer idea on the start. We spend half of any Fellaini money on JM and I'm going to have trouble remaining positive as the whole situation will strike me as exactly what I, as a Moyes fan and a resultant (relative to what I was before) pessimist when he left, thought would happen.

It's good that we're having loads of the ball and dictating games in the first two thirds against gash opposition, but we are NOT dictating anything in the final third. That's the problem. Jelavic is proper, proper, turbo gash and Kone isn't sharp yet and may well be gash so we need a striker. If RM thinks we can go on without one, I fear for the season.

Can it work out? Yes, clearly, if teams are going to allow us to come at them and we come up with the answers, we win games (as long as we can defend). Chelsea will be a different task where we will probably see something different. I hope we can show some signs of improvement there.

We dominate possession, which results in a better defense, as exhibited by 2 clean sheets in a row. Last year we couldn't keep a clean sheet to save our life.

As mentioned, questionable ref decisions have cost us potentially 6 more points. If we were on 7 points right now, everyone would be feeling a lot different.

Barkley is a star.

Delefeou looks a player. He's been better than Mirallas so far. He needs to play.

The goals will come. I'd rather we be sound in possession and defensively, because we can grind out points until the dam bursts.

I expect mid table this year. It's a transition year and I think if you just sit back and think of this as a project, you'll be a lot less miserable.

Agree with this.

Pathetic.

He's a Croatian international. Of course clubs would be interested. No reason we can't get 5m euros for him.

Jelavic, Kone and Anichebe.....2 should have been sold and one never signed....Martinez should have taken a punt on 2 random geezers from anywhere and it wouldn't be worse than these three.

Alcaraz and Heitinga on large salaries as 3rd and 4th choices.

This guy needs to make a signing to actually fit the team....or a wasted season here.

Pathetic.

He sure is. The lads hasnt a clue.

We proved last year we could play pass and move, though.

Moyes used to panic too often and get us going more direct, but it's not an alien style to us.

Correct.

Against teams like Villa last season (away) we played the best brand of pass and move in the league and scored goals, creating chance after chance. We could also mix it up with direct play. That's no coincidence.

At Norwich we did well and was unlucky, WBA wasn't as good but we did ok but couldn't break them down, today was probs are best performance for me and we were unlucky with a couple of decisions but im seeing progress in are play as the games go on.

Yes, it is frustrating seeing us dominate and not pick up the wins, but were a work in progress and it will take time!. Not one game, 2 or 3, but several, maybe 10, even a season but we have to be patient!. We haven't got the money to go out and buy the top end quality that we'll need that can turn are good play into goals, so we'll have to work on things in training where we become more precise and devastating in the final third!.

Carry on the way were going, try and improve every week in training and at some point its going to come to fruition in games and we are going to start winning, im sure of it. It was always going to be a period of transition this start of the season that would take a fair few games to get into are stride!.

I do think aswell, that Deulofeu needs more minutes in games. Against Stevenage and at one point today, he put in some great balls in behind the defence and once the other players know that he's capable of that sort of thing and can produce that one bit of creativity during games, are players will start to gamble and make runs into 6 yard box and goals will come from it IMO.

He sure is. The lads hasnt a clue.

He was isolated the entire game. He never stopped working to sniff out a chance but he literally had no chance whatsoever. The build up play was too slow, too often.

Too many people on here are like "DUHHHH WE DIDNT SCORE LETS AUTOBLAME JELAVIC DERRRP".
