Martinez - Thoughts So Far?

But we haven't exactly "scraped draws", have we? Our finishing has left a lot to be desired, but the fact remains that we're unbeaten, and have kept two clean sheets out of three.

This, you have to wonder are people watching these matches if they think we are scraping draws, I think its been us thats looked the more likely winner in all 3 games so far.

You should have heard the suicide cases on local radio tonight. You'd think we were on a par with Real Madrid and just been ****ted by Cardiff 10-0. Embarrassing. I bet the Kopites were pissing themselves at the antics.

Some people really need to learn to control themselves.

This is what is doing my head in the most

People acting like we where the Bayern of Liverpool under Moyes and this chump has turned up and has us playing like Stoke

I mean its not as if Moyes has anything to do with the current state of the squad is it

I need to get in the habit, I forget I can stream it.

I am inclined to give the guy a chance.

I don't think seriously, that people can justify moaning about remaining unbeaten, keeping two clean sheets out of three and going through to the next cup round. I do think that we need to have a bit more urgency about us in attack though.

We need to be realistic, I feel

Martinez needs 11 Deulofeu's to make his tika taka system work - well not 11 Deulofeu's but 11 Barca quality players.

He'll never get them at Everton.

He's gonna take us down.

Like I said earlier Lenny, if the problems we were having were of a different type I'd be more uptight but a lot of it is just learning how to work a new type of attack. We stay on the front foot, don't sit back and just keep coming and playing our football. Scoring and then sitting back, like megamelt used to do, REALLY got on my nerves.

I feel like I'm watching a different game sometimes. I watch the game, then I come on here and it's like a parallel universe.

The key word to remember here is transition.

We are in transition in terms of playing style and possibly post Monday, playing personnel.

Finishing aside I sort of enjoyed today's performance given that we are only 4 games into the Martinez reign. If we could get a new striker, or even have a striker on form for once I can see real progress in the way that we are playing.

More pace in our play would help, but perhaps that is not possible in the early stages of such a transition - however, it is no coincidence that Baines and Coleman are looking less effective in a slower build up.

Realistically a top 8 finish would be a tremendous result given the changes to style the team are going through. A great Cup run or even a Cup win would just be a bonus (welcome, nevertheless).

So far for me, we are ahead of expectations despite the woeful form of Jelavic, Kone and Mirallas.

I didn't want him here at the time and nothing has changed my opinion so far but we aren't even in Septembe yet. Get a striker, and swerve McCarthy.

If we start sliding down the league it will be interesting because the apathetic fans might wake up a bit towards the board.

Yup, that's my feeling so far as well. I didn't expect a nightmare, just more teething problems keeping goals out of our net while trying to play more. Helps a lot having good pros...been really happy with Jags and Distin taking all this on with both hands 'cause it's asking a lot out of them, initially.
