Id love Martinez to adopt the high press that others like Tuchel & Klopp have. Its one of the reasons fans got on his back so much during the winter because we played in such a passive manner

Tuchel is taking over Dortmund by all accounts, the same Tuchel who @davek took the mick out of when people suggested him as a replacement for Martinez
Yeah, and United chose Moyes to replace SAF.

I suspect we'll see the same effect.

Tuchel would be a huge gamble for Dortmund. If that happens it looks like a move to get a Klopp-clone in. The problem with that is when Dortmund appointed Klopp they were just off the canvas of financial meltdown with no expectations whatsoever. Dortmund now, despite this ropey season, are expected to push every season for the Bundesliga and CL.

For a manager who's done no better than get a provincial club like Mainz to 5th and has a win % at Mainz of 39% that is one hell of a gamble.

For a manager who's done no better than get a provincial club like Wigan to a cup final and win it and had a win % at Wigan of ??% that is one hell of a gamble.

You mean like Martinez was for us?

I have changed the words for you to help ;)

p.s. Still in Martinez camp, he still has until October for me to prove this season was due to the Europa League or a fluke.

With the best will in the world, Dortmund are on a different plain to Everton. Their place in German football is cemented as a top two club.

That's why Moyes to United is the apt parallel and not Martinez to Everton.

Klopp has confirmed he will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

"It's not that I'm tired, I've not had any contact with another club but don't plan to take a year off," he said.

I like high pressing sides. However we got murdered pressing our LB/RB too high up the pitch in August-October. We are are also full of olds and players who have a tendency to blow up their quads when much running is required. It would take a massive overhaul of the side (something I'm not against) and at the minimum 2 years to implement.

We are were we are now and nothings going to change next season so I hope he gets it right and makes me eat humble pie. So it's just wait and see. I suppose part of the point I was trying to make was that we were constantly finishing in the top 8 of supposedly the best league in the world and we felt the need to take a chance on a young manager again. There should have been managers queuing around the corner for the job.

Never have Pulis. He will get a crap team playing better but that's about it. I can't see him taking a top half team forward.
The problem is/was whoever we go for will be a gamble, sadly the better managers and the next breed of so called top managers don't look at Everton as a club to improve their CV.
Hughes Martinez Laudrup that fella from Porto, would of all been gambles, sadly if we are discussing the merits of Martinez and Hughes it shows were we stand in attracting managers.
It is the same as we're we finish, 5th - 9th is we're I see us as that is were we sit at the big table.
I back RM as I would of backed any manager, they are here so for me support them and hope and pray they get everything right.....our day will come again

I never count managing a International team as not the same as league management.
I didn't forget Fulham as 11 mths doesn't warrant a mention
Also Blackburn he done well, but what a horrible kick and run, over physical team

Hughes believe me was a far bigger gamble than RM, and if anything a worse track record especially spending money ( take a look at his signings. You will not believe them)

You would of had a better argument if you would of said Pullis as your choice

Somebody is seriously suggesting Mark Hughes? And it's not a wind up?

God, that's worrying.

Domestos cocktail called for.

Mark Hughes

RIP GoTkipper puts everything into perspective

I,m sorry but Mark Hughes mate ffs. Stoke is the right place for Mark Hughes, he's thouroughly unpleasant as are the fans and their style of play. Hughes is pond life and hopefully will stay at Stoke for a long time.

Hughes has a better win ratio in management than Martinez lads.
