Not lucky, but we got a nice momentum to us, we were relatively lucky with injuries, Howard wasnt trying his best to mess up every match.
When things are going well, things go nice and smoothly.

That is a good one but do not let Doogie see it. As I said to Woolly we all just want the best for our club, wish that billionaire would hurry up and buy the club and pump millions into it.

On that basis are you saying his first season was lucky?
mate tell me, is Pellegrini a good or a bad manager?
Even good managers go through tough seasons. Martinez had a good first season, got us ticking over well and playing lovely footie. This year the squad's a year older, had to deal with a team beleaguered with injuries, losing confidence as well as the extra games in Europe. Key senior players have drastically underperformed, and the manager has also made mistakes.
No doubt it's been a terrible season, but on the basis of the first season you have to say he should probably get an opportunity to prove that the first season is a true representation of the manager he is.

Oh Jesus, my comment was just tongue in cheek and you go all bananas.

Not me. Given the choice I'd have him gone tomorrow.

I have the opposite view to yourself (of which I respect) in that I think this season is the norm rather than last season.

Unfortunately for me he's going nowhere at the moment so I can only hope I am wrong and you are right.

I think the reverse, purely because next season is going to be played under the same conditions as the first and not the second (no European distractions).

I think it's been a wrecking ball right through our domestic campaign (the EL) and we'll see a lot more energy and pace about our performances next season.

I fully expect a minimum top 7/8 finish.

Or we just sack our manager every time we have a downturn in fortunes

I always go with the 5th - 9th placing as I think that is the group we sit in.
We will do OK next season, but there will be people who think if we don't finish top 4 he should be out
Laughable at times

Our EX had us in that sort of comfort zone so perhaps a bit of settling back there for next season and the one after would be a good thing to consolidate.

Agreed.

A season out of those places can be tolerated if there's a good enough excuse (and there is this season for reasons already stated). I dont think it's acceptable to finish outside that in a third season here though. TBF to Roberto he sounds like he fully understands that too.

I cant see that happening though. We'll be more than ok next season. We'll be easy top half and then some. I just hope he can work a bit of cup magic for us.

I laugh at times that expectations are running at a unprecedented pace, when we have all been content with mediocrity for so long.
I will never knock Moyes as he give his all for the club and done his best, I expect RM will do the same...given the chance
